DPR were taken away a few months ago in our office. Oversized back on walks, made most of them impossible. It seems they are partially back in as agency staff are now doing them. Trouble is, DPR went, staff went, vans went. So the agency staff wait around until vans come back from walks.

DPRs seem to be working ok in my office but since their implementation we had to bring in agency staff to cover them.

It'll be interesting to see if the W Mids Super Hub going live makes any difference in the W Mids area, our DPR's are supposed to be done by the MC but there's been no signs of that happening so far.

Then they came in and were over-run, so we had to take about half or "best endeavours".

Then they had them all back about two weeks ago.

Then they were missing for two days and we had them all back.

Now they are back again, but the managers don't really know how long for.

We have them.
The biggest problem is when one (or four) go sick.
They have rest day covers but they don't appear to have reserves.
Their hours are so different you can't simply take a postie to cover a DPR.

What are their hours currently?

The DPRs in my office currently are doing the normal delivery hours.

The DPRs in my office start at 9-10 until finish. Either agency, new contracts or processing staff on OT.

8 in our office on 1 in 4 weeks off ,10am till 6 .15 pm atm ,looking to put a few more in as parcel volumes for the office show that , covered by staff but agency occasionally, nothing new really as our office did this 30 years ago except you then worked 10am till 6pm Monday to Friday ,plus somehow the templates have all gone missing and it's throw whatever you can get away with back lol

Got a few of these but they are back at the office early hanging around until LATS arrive so managers are looking to slash one of the duties. Doesn’t help when a couple of them are in at the crack of dawn loading up before the posties start when their start time is 1/2 hour to an hour later.

15-20 agency pick up the slack in our office. If not enough parcels they pick up cut offs. We clear most days. Who pays is anyones guess

What's the duty pattern?

They come in late morning and scan their bulk and create their route (or whatever).

Then they wait for staff to come back to the office so they have access to a van.

They are paid 6 hours and leave anything that they didn't attempt (ie the 74th parcel).
