A Yes vote is for Common Sense and for showing Solidarity and Fidelity with the CWU
Contrary to the lies and deception spouted by certain fanatical kamikaze No voters, Davy Ward and the CWU have done a splendid job in obtaining a good deal with Royal Mail, in very trying and testing circumstances
Support your very capable CWU Union and do what is right for you and your Dependents and Vote Yes

Vote yes and RM will continue with oversized rounds, different start/finish times, slash personnel numbers well into the future, and be untrustworthy on every agreement they sign. Vote no and the above will happen. Wish I could trust management to change for the companies AND our benefit. Be lucky to get £1,000 per year for redundancy - I'd have to give it some thought

Re: How much redundancy do we get when RM goes broke?
You will get all of that with a no vote and also lose your pay rise and lump sum. You could actually see more redundancies in the event of a no vote, as has been outlined by the CWU and the PEC on this very forum.ANDREW CROCOMBE wrote: ↑25 Jun 2023, 22:46Vote yes and RM will continue with oversized rounds, different start/finish times, slash personnel numbers well into the future, and be untrustworthy on every agreement they sign. My gut feeling is that if it ends up being a yes vote there'll be a massive surge in people leaving the business, especially in deliveries. At the very least there might be a massive surge in people leaving the unionLouBarlow wrote: ↑26 Jun 2023, 05:04You will get all of that with a no vote and also lose your pay rise and lump sum. Re: How much redundancy do we get when RM goes broke?
I doubt it. People realise that this is still a good job despite the changes and will adjust as they have done over the years. Posties always moan and whinge about changes to working conditions, then just suck it up and carry on. Otherwise a lot of old timers would have moved on already, given how the job has changed drastically in all the years I have been working for RM. I can’t see them leaving the union either - they would be mad to given how their job is going to be even more scrutinised going forwards, with PDA actual etc. They will need union support more than ever.SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑26 Jun 2023, 05:08My gut feeling is that if it ends up being a yes vote there'll be a massive surge in people leaving the business, especially in deliveries. Re: How much redundancy do we get when RM goes broke?
I agree. I’ve had a look out there and there isn’t much better. There doesn’t seem many similar paid jobs which have set hours, good sick pay and 30 day annual leave.LouBarlow wrote: ↑26 Jun 2023, 05:17I doubt it. My wife has a career where she can switch jobs and earn over £50k a year I doubt any of us are in that position. It also seems many similar jobs have shift patterns spread over 7 days too.

Re: How much redundancy do we get when RM goes broke?
No they won't because they been moaning what a crap job it is for the last 30 years and they're still there. Because they can't do anything else. Because there is no other jobs that pay anywhere near what they get at RM. They moan about the weather , too hot , too wet , too cold , the managers are nasty , their feet are hurting , their uniform is crap. Moan moan moan. And they'll still be there next year and the next and the next . It's all they know and its all they can do. Then they'll leave at 67 , tell you it was a great job 40 years ago and how they're gold they are leaving.SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑26 Jun 2023, 05:08My gut feeling is that if it ends up being a yes vote there'll be a massive surge in people leaving the business, especially in deliveries. Most will leave when they retire or drop down dead.SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑26 Jun 2023, 05:08My gut feeling is that if it ends up being a yes vote there'll be a massive surge in people leaving the business, especially in deliveries. Re: How much redundancy do we get when RM goes broke?
This is very true. If there is one thing that we can all agree on, is that posties bitch and moan about how bad the job is, but then they suck it up and carry on regardless. I’ve done over twenty years and am still midway on the seniority list.Wullie10 wrote: ↑26 Jun 2023, 23:58No they won't because they been moaning what a crap job it is for the last 30 years and they're still there. Re: How much redundancy do we get when RM goes broke?
I bet he hates the job more. Bet he never gets sick of telling everyone how much he hates it. How he's leaving the union after 40 years as a member. How great it was in his day. Probably spent his whole working full of negative hatred, can't wait to leave , but then can't as it's all he knows. Get rid of Simon Thompson, get rid of Dave Ward and it'll just be like the good old days , he'll say.
