Really? I assumed once agreed it would be paid instantaneously. Gauling to watch good people disillusioned and leaving with nothing, while some utter shithouses will get this lump sum and back pay

HA HA sorry guys its been tough these last few months and we cannot pay the £900 now - bit like colleague shares not worth a penny !

Not that I'm any expert in this I think the money is pretty much nailed on to be there still.
I presume the more people leaving the business would also see a slight percentage increase in the £900 giving to anyone still employed.

As k979 said, the back pay (due from April) will probably be dependent on being still employed when the agreement is signed off
by both parties (if it's a Yes), which has happened before IIRC.

Knowing RM to receive the lump sum you'll also probably have to be in post on 29 Sep - which
must be near the start of the week for starting the Seasonal Variation hours (or maybe even already started),
so somebody thinking of jumping ship might have to put up with a week or two of 39 hours!

Both dates might be the same, who knows when we're dealing with RM management!

What happens next?

The release of the escrow is subject to final ratification of the agreement with the Communication Workers Union (CWU) in the member ballot. Once the agreement is ratified, all employees will receive the payment on 29 September and it will be subject to normal Income Tax and National Insurance deductions.

Never has been the case and I know from others 20 plus years ago!

Yea this is my issue people almost forced to leave due to mental fatigue and then nothing where as people who crossed picket lines and don’t pay into the pension get a windfall

I can only assume it's the people that are employed when the vote happens and that are still employed by Royal Mail in September that will get it.

Cwu need to clarify this, if not the lump sum you should definitely get back pay
