Can we please have a share of the managers bonus and recognition bonus next time cma negotiate it for the manager population plz and we can tag along and just jump in for the ride

In fact all bonuses should be banned and then they would not do revisions nor pressure people as there would be no reward for others hard work and endeavours!

If it's for all employees, why not all those invested in the pension scheme? Remember there are ex employees who have an interest. Those who retired and are in receipt of their pension and more importantly those who have left the business and are deferred members of the fund yet to take their pension.
There are also those employees who for whatever reason opt out of the pension scheme and they will also benefit???? Someone correct me if I'm wrong but has any other company paid out a lump sum to employees from their pension fund? Just seems way,way dodgy to me!

It is an escrow account ie it was a contingency fund thus was paid by all and not paid out till they agreed the terms of release of the funds this will not affect others pensions as it was separate fund why they had this account/fund this is another matter!

Because both sides sanctioned it along with the trustees!

Managers which were in the scheme do get the lump sum as the trustees and pension regulator would only sign off this sum if it applied to all grades which the pension scheme covered.

It does not cover senior managers.

Nice wee reward for the people who bully and harass us at every turn would rather do without the 900 than those scroats get it

Seems very short sighted to me. Who knows what is going to happen in the future? Robbing the pension surpluses is what got Royal Mail into trouble before privatisation. It sets a dangerous precedent in my book. Pension funds should never be used to bail out the employer!

Exactly. You find another way or just don't go there but we all know why this has been agreed don't we... a small bribe to try to convince the ones to take the surrender deal

I think the biggest aspect of this deal is why ROYAL MAIL paid £568 Million in share dividends and claim poverty and our union is aqusining the agreement by forfeiture of the pension scheme and that is money paid by us all to bailout some fat cats and dubious people!
