24/25 Friday.

I suppose you do a 12 mile route March in full gear when you go on holidayWigglypark wrote: ↑08 Jun 2023, 18:07
Why do you need advice? Can you not make your own decisions?
If your not sure what to do in warmer weather look on the internet for advice and I would also recommend you don’t go abroad on holiday![]()

I remember the famous advice, "Try to avoid delivering during the heat of midday"
Perhaps we should take a couple of hours siesta and then complete ...EVEN later?

I know what you mean, I think some are afraid to get their legs out, I couldn’t care less!pieoftheday wrote: ↑09 Jun 2023, 12:28I dont know how people get round their delivery when it's hot wearing long trousers?
One of the most frustrating aspects of the job is the old retired brigade telling us how they used to do the job in shirt and tie etc. As I always say, there’s no way they could do the job now with delivery spans as they are, wearing shirt and tie doing the outdoor hours we now do.
I’d wear a 3 piece suit, snow jacket and woolly hat if it meant we were finishing at 10am or whatever time those people used to finish!
The day is gonna come when we’re all gonna have to testify.

When I started we had the grey suit, I was never issued the light grey summer version. Those grey trousers were awful when it was hot, luckily we wernt out in the heat too long. Then we got that bloody awful dark blue suit with red piping, thick heavy trousers, just horrible, your right theres no way we could wear that on today's deliveriesHTPostman wrote: ↑11 Jun 2023, 14:12I know what you mean, I think some are afraid to get their legs out, I couldn’t care less!pieoftheday wrote: ↑09 Jun 2023, 12:28I dont know how people get round their delivery when it's hot wearing long trousers?
