Night allowance as reserve

Post by Scotland8333 »

Hi I currently work out a voc as a class 1 leave reserves doing any shift but since my transfer I have only ever done nights but when I had a/l I never got any shift allowance I’m told by one person I get it and someone else I’m not am I entitled to it? Don’t get much joy with the mangers and the book room person is not helpful.

Any help would be great.

Am pretty sure you don't get it because you're reserve mate. If you had a duty it would be a different story.

A reserve should have a underpinned allowance of all jobs shifts you cover, in the MC if you are fixed nights you get the full night shift allowance every week and if you are mech trained you would get for example say there is 20 Full TPM duties and 20 manual duties you would get 50 % of £28.50 ie full night when covering manual jobs if on a TPM duty you would get the full £28.50 on top of night allowance. You get night allowance of £94.98 per week on A/L plus when on A/L you would get £14.25 TPM which is the average of the jobs you cover in this scenario.

So you should get a shift allowance whilst on a/l

You get a share of night allowance/ nda. If you work one night 20% 2 nights 40% ect. Don't let the managers of so called workmates tell you bullshit. Also early start allowances for starting at 3.30/4.00/4.30 and 5.00 am. They are still payable. CLAIM EVERYTHING. Where the xxxx is the union. They should be keeping you informed ffs.
