Having a conversation with manager a couple of times a week re " not being able to complete "
He is not happy with me , other opgs do the same and it is dealt with by him.
He has suggested / threatened to come out on delivery with me , singleton duty, to assess my duty which I have no big issue with but feel if I am being " treated differently to other staff "
Is this permitted especially with him being able to monitor me with PDA

Just call his bluff , it won’t happen and if he does make sure it’s a busy Wednesday and not a quiet Tuesday.

tell him yes you can come out with you but a cwu rep needs to come as well if he wants to test you , yes he can look at your pda data but cant use it against you , and you can also tell the clever s**t you want to look at your data which you can everyday if you want to and he will soon get fed up

Long before shared vans I was tested with a manager coming out with me,he was a nice chap .I completed the 1st delivery, I know a long time ago, on time pretty much to the minute, he told me acouple of weeks later that there was no issue with my work and the walk shouldn't be altered. The following week the D.O manager decided I could fit another small estate on the walk, this added just over an hour, nowt much changes

Do it, but do everything fully to the book (which we all do anyway, right?). Full vehicle check, remember 30mph is the limit not the speed you should travel at, don’t walk while looking at the mail, no shortcuts. Remember to cut off to use the toilet, especially when it’s a loop furthest away from the toilet. If the PDA stops working, use one of those old cards. Fill the P739 in fully. Take your break with him twiddling his thumbs alongside you in the van. And for bonus points, ask to see any risk assessments for your round, if it’s in the summer ask to see his completed severe weather report (or whatever it’s called). You have to play these fools at their own game, it’s the only way.

The exact same thing happened to me pal. Even got suspended over it when others are far worse than me. I’m quick on delivery. The round is now over 6 hours delivering, no joke… with the new lapsing… then wonders why I can’t do it in 4.

They tried this BS with me on two occasions before PDA`s were around. I actually went even slower because I did it even more by the book than I did usually. They never bothered me again. It is really an intimidation tactic, and should be outlawed now, with PDA actuals. Just call their Bluff they will soon get bored.
