Re: Shovelling Parcels
These shovels (or any new equipment or tools) will need to be tested approved for use on site.
The shovels should all be the same make and purchased from the same supplier via procurement dept after approval for use.

I’m sure parcels won’t be damaged at all when using these.

Ah.....so we can see it is not actually "shovelling parcels" the slider tool is to be used for sliding packets from the rear of the york to the front from 1/3rd depth down.noggin1969 wrote: ↑29 May 2023, 20:02Even has its own safety brief on how to use the snow shovel.......sorryIs it the 1st of April? Sliding onto a loose tray on the floor? Nope not allowed to have loose trays on the floor, due to the trip hazard. The brief seems to be aimed around set-ups that use old style crashes when some offices, especially MCs will use powered conveyors

This issue is a snapshot on how far we have fallen.
When I first started 37 years ago the Staff and Reps would have been all over it.
I suspect the old school Managers would have felt the same.
These days…..

Whether sport, politics or business, there always comes several moments of thinking “this lot have lost it” when there is a split between those in power and those underneath.
Then after those moments there is one REAL moment where you know, beyond all doubt, that the lunatics have taken over the asylum.
The worst of many, and I do mean many, ludicrous ideas over the last decade.
Wow.

We're not quite at the Men Who Stare At Goats level yet of harnessing the power of positive thinking to clear frames. Or hire magicians - David Copperfield could have made all those backlogged yorks disappear in December.
The machine stops.

Oh but you’re wrong. Apparently from August we are all going to take half an hour less to prep. No explanation from the donkeys as to how we are going to do this but I’m sure it’s all been thought through and will be amazing.

Re: Shovelling Parcels
It’s simple really. They want rid of the RM2000 frames. You ram your flats and unsorted primary mail into your mech tray then boom straight into back of van. Scan your parcels in then chuck them in the back of van using your photographic memory when out on delivery as obviously you haven’t marked any letters. You then grab a random stack of door to doors and hope you remember which loops to balance them on your head whilst out on delivery. Then it will start pissing down with rain which will make organising your delivery in the back of the skip on wheels *ahem* sorry van so much easier. The 30 mins saved indoors will somehow mean you can do 2 hours extra outdoors as “traffic is light today”Barnacle wrote: ↑30 May 2023, 22:35Oh but you’re wrong. Re: Shovelling Parcels
Can anybody understand why RM couldn't simply design the equipment at the super hubs to work with the present York sleeves rather than use ones which are totally impractical, then have to come with a stupid solution to try and make them usable.

Re: Shovelling Parcels
Can I ‘accidentally’ wallop anyone in the vicinity with said shovel - manager, annoying colleague, useless union rep?
Asking for a friend.
