It's not an "easy job". It's bloody hard, that's why so many new starters leave on day 2. We have a skillset tnat not many people have.

We don't have "great terms and conditions". We have respectable t&cs that any worker deserves.

We do have great terms and conditions, try and convince someone whose employer pays in 3% into their Pension that we don't.
Many workers don't get paid meal reliefs and shop workers have to cash up in their own time after their shift has finished.

I'm under no illusions that Royal Mail want to drive down our pay and conditions but you are right that currently our pay and conditions are streets ahead of comparable jobs.
It's interesting that the people on here who complain haven't given one example of a similar job or Company that has better pay and conditions than Royal Mail.

Can't argue that years ago the conditions were a lot better and there was more emphasis on providing a great service to the customer. Pay wasn't bad but the hours were great.

Ever since privatisation things were going to go south with bigger deliveries. There are many posties on sick leave because of the daily grind the job does to our bodies.

You do have to be organised though, especially if you are a driver and all that goes with it. I agree that we are well paid, but so we should be as it’s a very physically demanding job.

I’d agree with that. I’d say you need competent levels of common sense rather than a certain skill. The worst posties I find, are the intelligent ones who are just lazy.
