Area rep in unit on my day off
Talking about the ballot etc.
A colleague told me that he said VR was back on the table. He didn't have a chance to elaborate, and now on leave.
I will ask a rep regarding this.
In the meantime, has anyone else heard this?
Perhaps a bit off topic, apologies.
Hi l may have my slow hat on...what is meant by VR rate only 1 year....I have done 9 years.... thanks again

If they have just given a load of VR's at 9 months what on earth makes you believe they will increase this to 12 ?TOWER1 wrote: ↑19 May 2023, 21:36Thanks for thatchickenwittle wrote: ↑19 May 2023, 19:091 years salary is maximum pay out , use to be 2.TOWER1 wrote: ↑19 May 2023, 16:20chickenwittle wrote: ↑19 May 2023, 15:14Yes told this by area rep also , VR rate is only 1 year though.TOWER1 wrote: ↑19 May 2023, 09:18Re VR

Re: Keith williams says end saturday deliveries
They offered 9 month plus a 6k lump sum which they withdraw later so the figure is around the one year mark.Personally I think the union will secure the 12 month as they don't want the deal to look any worse than it is.
Credit to Royal mail have saved a ton of money this last Vr campaign by paying 9 month and good luck to all the Part timers with 2nd jobs that took the offer.

VR? Unlikely people leaving in their droves of their own will. Why pay them?

True. I was speaking to my Postie and he was saying the same.

One of my duties hasn't been out for four days.
Getting rid of Saturday deliveries will make no difference.
Management have no interest in the mail at all.

I think they'd hail it as a raging success, best thing royal mail management did, pat themselves on the backs and grab a big f**k off bonus as due to not needing as much staff at weekends there would be more posties available mon-fri to get shut of any backlogs.
Unfortunately that would be short lived as no doubt within a pretty short time when more have left and not been replaced we'd be back where we are but this time unable to provide a 5 day USO.
