We should start a new poll asking those who vote no if they are leaving the union? As they are dismissing the deal they recommend it makes sense they would.
I will be leaving the union if this terrible deal goes ahead, probably exactly what Royal mail want but i don't care anymore if it gets too bad im off .

I don't trust RM to not ram through loads of changes whether it's a yes or a no vote, and I can't see them taking any notice of the union when they do
This is exactly what I feel. A yes vote gives them a green light to go even further with their EA and at a pace. With a castrated , weak union unable to prevent it.
I refuse to simply give in and meekly accept this deal. If it happens anyway, I least I can say it wasn't with my endorsement or consent.

A no vote is a fighting chance.
How is a no vote a fighting chance explain please.
I believe that the "fighting chance" point is because if you vote YES then you get the deal offered but if you're just not happy with the the deal then voting NO gives you hope, however undefined that may be at the moment, that you may get a different deal. You will not get a different deal if you vote YES.

I'm sure some on here are trying to look in to the future and judging what may be coming around the corner. Hence a YES or NO vote is not simply a decision based on whether or not you like the current deal, but also factoring in what RM or the CWU leadership will do next.

If you keep things very simple you will vote YES or NO based solely on your acceptance of what is being offered in this particular deal. However, it's completely understandable to get into the whole "If we take the deal will RM honour it? Will it last? Will they come back for more from us?" with a YES vote. And if you vote NO it's all about "Will I lose what little I had with the current deal and ultimately end up worse off? Is a better deal actually possible? Is a NO right now better in the longer term and I should stand my ground and weather the short-term effects?".

It is human nature to try and play chess here and think two moves ahead - RM is definitely thinking two or more moves ahead. Just be sure that Royal Mail (letters and parcels) is not going to disappear any time soon as the service is still very much required. However, it will transform and you may or may not be able to live with its new methods of work.

These are turbulent times and we may be better off taking each day and week at a time and let the future arrive in its own time.

My view is vote yes or no makes no difference change will happen anyway it depends on the £500 if you can live without it vote no take a chance. If your in need of the money vote yes and take a chance were fu**ed either way.Or if your like me tired fed up depressed stressed skint I'm voting no coz I could give a flying f*"k about the job and the £500 is an insult.

It might not disappear but there is a possibility it could be broke up if it hemorrhages more money, saying that ST has went so maybe if a no vote is returned the new boss could revise the deal like a good start to his tenure to push the company forward.

The deal has worsened. I would rather have accepted the 9% over 18 months than 10% over 3 years! It’s an even stronger NO than before for me!
Exactly do you think voting no is gonna make it better thats exactly what I'm trying to point out there losses are even worse now.
Not our problem. Anyone with an ounce of pride in them can clearly see that Thompson and the shareholders have bagged all the funds for themselves. Maybe we should accept a 0% pay rise to ensure that they enjoy it eh?

You can have pride and still be wrong, every CEO has done that since privatisation they've just went to far this time but most people are saying that was the plan he was the fall guy which when you look at seems to be the case he's just walked away with 2 years pay for failing.

Still doubt that would swing it for what they are doing to t's and c's and working hours.

Yep, a one off payment of £1500 isn't going to last. The destruction of our terms and conditions will.

I’m fascinated how you think a company who have just posted losses of over £700 million can turn that around in a year and become profitable. Might help if you could let RM know your business plan. Considering the decline in mail and increase in costs, it will take some doing.

Yet we are to be happy at some silly profit sharing scheme which lasts for just two years being included in the deal?
If you tolerate this, then your paid break will be next

Not many convinced in 4 weeks then
Yes but this has become a union bashing club of a handful who shut down anyone who disagree with no.
I haven't seen any NO voters shutting anyone down on here just a large amount of people giving their reasons why they are voting NO,everyone has the right to vote whatever they want too and i believe people have the right to bash a union who they think are letting the members down,oh and i wouldn't say a handful ,branches up and down the country are starting to come out and recommend a NO vote, time will tell if we ever get the right to vote or not.

Not happy at all. I think it is possibly the most pointless aspect of the whole agreement and pales into significance compared to other elements such as pay and the t&cs. Nobody is happy with all parts of the deal, I can assure you, including people like myself who are voting for it.
