Re: Keith williams says end saturday deliveries
Slightly off topic but 'Keith Williams also says' in the financials yesterday,
"Quality of service has been significantly affected by industrial action and high levels of absence"
Wot, nothing else then Keith? You sure??
Sorry Keith but QofS has been in decline much longer than you're telling the markets!
As we all know.

Yes told this by area rep also , VR rate is only 1 year though.TOWER1 wrote: ↑19 May 2023, 09:18Re VR
Area rep in unit on my day off
Talking about the ballot etc.
A colleague told me that he said VR was back on the table. He didn't have a chance to elaborate, and now on leave.
I will ask a rep regarding this.
In the meantime, has anyone else heard this?
Perhaps a bit off topic, apologies.

Re: Keith williams says end saturday deliveries
Still only 50% of mail being delivered daily at ours and a struggle to do that. If we can't deliver it over six days how the hell are we going to get it done in 5.
More hours need investing in the office to stand a chance, and I can't see that happening.
Chronic understaffing for quick profit is to blame.
They can no longer totally dismiss the USO. Which is what they have done at our for years, long before Covid.
Hope that OFCOM are more proactive with Royal Mail from now on. They can not be trusted to provide truthful figures.

Exactly, the number of letters is the same but they only have to pay over 5 days not 6. 20% reduction in labour (head count), more potential profit for Royal Mailk979aaa wrote: ↑18 May 2023, 22:05Well it will not work that way someone will do Saturdays if they like it or not you will have a roster and the mail that does not go out saturday will be done by the people during the week. And 18% job losses and if your very lucky you may not have to do eight Saturdays on the bounce!

Deliveries would be unachievable over 5 days instead of 6.

Re: Keith williams says end saturday deliveries
By then we may have a change of government and I can’t see a Labour government -presuming they win the election - agreeing to this , and anyway how about getting Monday to Friday work out on time instead of always two or three days behind all the time.seaside wrote: ↑19 May 2023, 08:36If it's said that they will be back in profit next year, then I can't see the government agreeing to cut the USO to 5 days. Can not see compulsory redundancies either, as too many people want to leave, which does not say a lot about the work environment that we now have.

The integrity of management throughout the business is appalling.KilledOff wrote: ↑19 May 2023, 15:02Slightly off topic but 'Keith Williams also says' in the financials yesterday,

As we all know.
Keith - you have been purposefully understaffing us for 2 years.
Keith - you have added 40mins+ work to our duties which are now impossible to complete, on top of understaffing offices.
Keith - you do not care about the USO or the customer.

Re: Keith williams says end saturday deliveries
What's the betting if the Government agreed to Mon to Fri deliveries, they would be then pushing for a 3 day delivery in the not too distant future?
