I know it is a repost but this thread needs a restart look a the first 4 pages.k979aaa wrote: ↑12 May 2023, 22:57Everything in is agreement we could find a disagreement with thing is this took four months of talks and that is without S tommy bollarks in the talks. So where do we go from here the choice is two.
1 We carry on the fight we last done on Christmas eve and go all out over the top with no pay in the vain hope that this government gives a s**t!
2 We accept a s**t deal which is far from perfect and will probably leave us all over worked change our times and less well off and poorer than two years ago!
We can debate on here till the time comes home but option 1 will not get anymore out of RM and we will be defeated!
Option 2 two is making us poorer but we can fight another battle and possibly gain some of this back in another more favourable time!
Winning a War is not about throwing the whole army at it but how to use your resources at a time and a place and manner favourable for the outcome and not sticking two fingers up and hope for the best.
How you all you vote is your own business for I don't know your position or how all this will affect you it is a Concenences vote it is up to you all to agree how this deal will affect you!

You still only have to work your contracted hours.ruckus wrote: ↑12 May 2023, 05:56Maybe this agreement doesn't specifically say anything about the length of walks but the future doesn't look like the job is going to get easier with either a yes or a no.
I've been loaned out several times to different delivery offices - five so far. I have never heard that the walks are going to get smaller. Quite the opposite. It's always "three walks are being removed" or "two walks must come out" etc. Why "must" they? Just because they say so. Plus there is always a bit of collapsing/lapsing/absorption (pick your term) during the week.
I'm 55, been here nigh on 30 year's, very fit, do a lot of walking, cycling etc. Can get round pretty quick. My partner is 59, been here 18 month's. He's a good bloke who always puts a shift in, but he's not able to get round as quickly as me. Just as I would probably not be able to complete as quickly as a 25 yr old. So how do we go about attaining to Simon Thompson's proposed golden standard in deliveries.

Re: Why?
No you don’t get it. You are doing 24 more minutes work indoors because there is more sorting to be done during busier times of the year. You will still get out at the same time, and will do the same amount of outdoor work.Burghboy wrote: ↑13 May 2023, 07:54
If your indoor work takes you 2 hours it doesn’t matter what your start time is it will still take 2 hours, if you start 24 mins earlier then you will go on delivery 24 mins earlier, so will spend 24 mins more outdoor, am not really sure what part of that you don’t understand it’s pretty simple.
As for flex I was not wrong, it’s up for discussion to be mandatory at the company’s request.

Did you miss the part in the agreement about trialling methods and removing frames in order to reduce the indoor work by the same amount?LouBarlow wrote: ↑13 May 2023, 19:56No you don’t get it. Re: Why?
How would that work in practice then if we're going to spend 24 more minutes preping our duties but then no additional time delivering it, what's going to happen to all the additional work once it's put in the frame if we've got no extra time to then deliver it?LouBarlow wrote: ↑13 May 2023, 19:56No you don’t get it. Erm, you work your hours and bring it back. It isn’t difficult.TopperGas wrote: ↑13 May 2023, 20:27How would that work in practice then if we're going to spend 24 more minutes preping our duties but then no additional time delivering it, what's going to happen to all the additional work once it's put in the frame if we've got no extra time to then deliver it?LouBarlow wrote: ↑13 May 2023, 19:56No you don’t get it. "Erm, you work your hours and bring it back. It isn’t difficult".
That might be in theory, but reality states different at the coal face.
Performance management has been endemic for years questioning a persons capability along with the disciplinary procedure as computer says it can be done, especially deliveries. All the CWU can come up with is "Put in a Grievance" rather than putting their foot down. The number one absence cause in Royal Mail is stress related and been like that since the implementation of delivery methods.
Why should the employee have to face that grief everyday with not only emotional health, but Musculoskeletal conditions being out on delivery later with added workload and bad weather in the winter months?
The end result burned out bodies and Ill Heath Retirement.
Compensation with IHR being cut under this agreement from 34 weeks to 16 under joint agreement.
Madness
