Royal Mail ordered to explain how it will improve poor services in Nuneaton

Ofcom has demanded that Royal Mail explain how it will improve poor services in Nuneaton. After complaints were raised by a 'significant number of constituents', Nuneaton's MP wrote to the regulator to ask for it to look at the situation with mail delivery across the town.

As we reported in our newsletter, some people said they had not received mail for weeks and weeks, while others said that they only receive a delivery once a week. Royal Mail said that the recent issues with some people not receiving their mail have been down to staff sickness, but an insider told CoventryLive that it is due to a lack of staff to deal with even bigger rounds caused by growing development in the area.

Keen to get to the bottom of the situation and for the service to improve, the town's voice in Parliament wrote to Ofcom's boss to highlight the poor service, and ask for action to be taken. CoventryLive has seen a copy of the letter received by the MP from Dame Melanie Dawes, the chief executive at Ofcom.

In it, she explains that the company is being asked to explain how action will be taken against issues raised locally and elsewhere in the country. And they could be fined if they are not improved.

"We are very concerned that Royal Mail's performance has fallen well short of where it should be and have asked the company to explain what it is doing to bring service levels back up as a matter of urgency," the letter reads. "We are now preparing to make a decision on whether to take enforcement action and will announce this soon, once Royal Mail has reported publicly for the whole financial year."

It concludes: "I hope this reassures you as to our active engagement with the issues you raise."

My office the same letters and parcels left for days due to lack of staff and the managers continue to mislead the regulator saying they clear office everyday ,our boss is now under immense pressure as she has taken bonuses and has been caught out lying on numerous occasions ,she is now going around screaming at everyone telling them they are lazy and other things not to be repeated, she is ready to explode and will do anything to save her skin, god help us all, the place is awful to work in at the moment.

A bit more lapsing should do it. If that doesn't work Wottabout reducing the staff headcount?

How about reimagine the USO so that it actually means 33% delivered every day?

Or ekse just simply blame the posties or the odd bit of strike action 6 months ago?

Is Covid still a valid culprit to blame?

Whattabout bullying and harassing the staff a bit harder?

Shurely something can be done?
