Re: Thompson to go
We knew this was coming ,time to VOTE NO and call strikes and give a new CEO something to think about,oh and i hope he gets a visit by the law for committing a criminal offence of misleading a UK regulator don't let him slip quietly out the back door and get away with it and pay Ricky a visit too.

Re: Thompson to go
Considering the companies financial position I'm sure he won't receive millions to do one

Re: Thompson to go
Doesn't matter.
It's not like there's been a decent CEO up to now, and whoever succeeds Thompson, will want to carry on where he left off.
Thompson will go, leaving a severely weakened union behind him.
His successor, whoever it is, will seek to kill it off.
And they will.

Means nothing really - he was here tasked to do a number on us, and has succeeded by the looks of it
Next guy will be along to do whatever he is told to do from above
Moyas gone, hip hip hooray - welcome Rico he cant be as bad as Moya
Ricos gone, hip hip hooray - welcome Simon he cant be as bad as Rico
Simons gone, hip hop hooray......
The onslaught on our jobs and T&Cs will continue regardless.
And with a union as patently weak as the CWU, what's to stop them?

His partner in crime, Keith Williams, also needs to go not given the task of helping to appoint his successor.

Re: Thompson to go
As the last ballot suggests the union weren't weakened but those that lead the union were weakened. How can a union leadership in their right mind, despite any other change, allow a reduction in sick pay or ihr. Its madness.DirtyHarry wrote: ↑08 May 2023, 19:43Doesn't matter.

They did it for the most selfish of reasons, self-interest.richj2009 wrote: ↑08 May 2023, 19:50As the last ballot suggests the union weren't weakened but those that lead the union were weakened. They thought more about their positions, and the salaries that go with them, than they did their members hellish working conditions, and weakened T&Cs.

3 topics merged, popular fella this Thompson.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

I know pride doesn't pay the bills but a job without a future long term because of greedy parasitic overlords deserves to be brought down.DirtyHarry wrote: ↑08 May 2023, 19:58They did it for the most selfish of reasons, self-interest.richj2009 wrote: ↑08 May 2023, 19:50As the last ballot suggests the union weren't weakened but those that lead the union were weakened. No they won't. How can you kill off 115000 Union members?
The vote won't divide us. We will alway's support the majority vote, if it's yes or no.
Have you also noticed that I'm using the term "We"
Are you hoping for something that's not going to happen?

Re: Simon Thompson To Step Down?
I guess the union will now claim victory, that he will go.
Well timed to encourage the gullible that RMG will now be a better more trustworthy company and so you nice little people should all vote yes!
Everything about this dispute was engineered, he has done his job impeccably.
