Had my own walk for the last 4/5 years and always plan ahead for my scheduled days off. However we’ve just had an office re-pick and there’s nothing left for me to pick… I’m gutted I’ve lost my walk, but more importantly where do I stand in terms of a rota?
I’ve been told anything I’ve got planned already, they will try to accommodate. But going forwards I’ll be floating and so won’t know my days off more than two weeks in advance. Have I got an argument here? How are you meant to live when you can’t plan anything in the future for outside of work?
I feel like I’m being forced to leave a job I love…

Not really much you can do if you no longer have a regular duty, you might not even get a long weekend like your supposed toJ_FD wrote: ↑28 Apr 2023, 14:19Had my own walk for the last 4/5 years and always plan ahead for my scheduled days off. Re: Lost duty in office re-pick, what about my rota?
Same has also happened to me, my rota has been honoured to date since losing my round as I had factored in appointments and events when i knew I would be off. But I'm not sure how long that will last. You are lucky getting 2weeks notice we usually only get a few days, week tops in my office. As for long weekends I never got one for 3mths until I complained before I got my round so no doubt that will happen again now.

I used to love this job wish I still did. I despise the people we work for. I've never had evil wishes before. Thankfully for those at the top wishes don't come true.

I like my job. I wouldn’t be here if I didn’t?
I dislike the mismanagement of my job.

Reserves should still be on the standard office rotate.

I don't know my day off until the Friday before, often until the actual week. It's an absolute joke. Not had a Saturday off since last summer.
I'm turning purple!
