Re: The Great Seasonal Variation con
Can someone who makes these ridiculous decisions come and show us how to complete an extra half duty within time. That's not too much to ask is it?

Whatever way you look at it it’s poor . So a trail in the summer months let me guess no trail for the winter monthsMartin Walsh wrote: ↑27 Apr 2023, 15:03Yes but your work less in the summer to get your Wally week which may be a 39 hour Wally week if it crossed over in the the peak period.
we just all flex up. Royal Mail are getting thousands of hours extra this winter and we will always be chasing our time back

Re: The Great Seasonal Variation con
If it’s coming in I’d rather do the extra 30 hours first than start it in summer and owe them 30 hours. It evens itself out over 12 months and only matters what you do first when you leave the business. I’d rather leave with an extra 30 hours pay in my last weeks wages than have 30 hours taken off me and be working my final week for 7 hours pay.

Your PDA will show you that it's easily doable, you were just being lazy by walking 2mph too slowly on Chestnut Hill, and stopping too long at 40% of your doorsteps.
This will be done "supportively" though. The CWU have received Royal Mail's assurances about that.

Starting half way through a leave year means any leave taken this year from September to April will cost you more hours and hence less time off this leave year.

Re: The Great Seasonal Variation con
My pda will show nothing of the sort unless of course the targets set for each parcel or unrealistic or ridiculous to begin with. Not in, elderly, can't find their key. The list goes on. Sat in living room key in door. That's the target. Unfortunately a day in the life of this crazy business doesn't run like that for the other 90% of parcels.

Re: The Great Seasonal Variation con
If this CWU supported crazy idea is voted in, which I personally will be voting No, then it should start April 2024, not later this year. So much for 'Trust' from RM. If that is correct, that we will loose A/L hours due to this. Surely, if we are going to paid 37hr (Full Time) throughout the year, then the A/L should not be affected, the con keeps getting bigger. Truly shocking from CWU!

Re: The Great Seasonal Variation con
There is no trust here. We need to forget the fact we were once valued workers doing a good service for the community we are affectively now nothing to those in charge. Get your head around that and your half way to survival. I'm struggling I must admit to come to terms with that fact.Pharox wrote: ↑27 Apr 2023, 16:46If this CWU supported crazy idea is voted in, which I personally will be voting No, then it should start April 2024, not later this year. Re: The Great Seasonal Variation con
these people running the s**t show think we are all skipping out the door at 1 o clock going home , but in the real world we do a 37 hour week now and claim everyday inc during summer and they have just added another 60 mins on the delivery via E/A which the cw who ? havent done nothing about so now the duty is 6hr - 22 mins span if we took the extranorris9 wrote: ↑27 Apr 2023, 15:18Say what!Martin Walsh wrote: ↑27 Apr 2023, 14:46There will be a pilot of 10 units this summer to ensure it reduces absorption in the summer and any further lessons to be learnt.
What's the point in a pilot to see if it reduces absorption?
Thanks to the revisions we have had 40 minutes of delivery added to our frames, which also means around 20 minutes more prep..... therefore we either leave or bring back 60 minutes worth of work each day. If we bring it back then that means 10 minutes the next day to put it back in the frame and that we leave 1 hour, 10 minutes worth of work the next day.
There's no absorption to reduce!
The company is being run by imbeciles.

Exactly come and show us those in charge where we go wrong. I warmly welcome you. I'll take Thompson out on delivery if need be. Come on pal show me. Stop spouting nonsense through your minions. Come to an office and show us. Your obviously a genius. We are all moaning about unachievable duties show us how we do it. Surely it's in your interest to show us and then we will all fall silent and back you for ever more.worktotime wrote: ↑27 Apr 2023, 17:23these people running the s**t show think we are all skipping out the door at 1 o clock going home , but in the real world we do a 37 hour week now and claim everyday inc during summer and they have just added another 60 mins on the delivery via E/A which the cw who ? havent done nothing about so now the duty is 6hr - 22 mins span if we took the extranorris9 wrote: ↑27 Apr 2023, 15:18Say what!Martin Walsh wrote: ↑27 Apr 2023, 14:46There will be a pilot of 10 units this summer to ensure it reduces absorption in the summer and any further lessons to be learnt.

The company is being run by imbeciles., so good luck trying to get us down to a 35 hr week during summer
, oh and we dont even touch the lapsing by the way , and the indoor workload has just increased with scanning and putting stickers on parcels you havent delivered and i cant wait till October for our next revision
, i think some of these clowns need to get out on delivery and see what the job is really like before they start agreeing stuff

Re: The Great Seasonal Variation con
Annual leave is now worked out in hours, if you take a weeks holiday in a 35 hour week Youl be deducted 35 hours. Same with a 39 hour week.mjd24 wrote: ↑27 Apr 2023, 18:17Can someone explain how annual leave will be effected please.Pharox wrote: ↑27 Apr 2023, 16:46If this CWU supported crazy idea is voted in, which I personally will be voting No, then it should start April 2024, not later this year.
