A paper payslip can be very handy concerning banks etc in confirming pay, address etc when applying for loans, mortgages and the like

GET INFORMATION ABOUT YOUR PAY SOONER AND IN A MORE ACCESSIBLE FORMAT

With more than 85% of our colleagues already using the People App and benefitting from its easy access and early publication, we are going to use the same technology to keep you all informed about your earnings.

From June 2023 everyone will only get a digital payslip through the People App; you’ll be able to get it earlier than a hard copy and you’ll have an automatic digital record of all your payslips. Monthly paid colleagues will receive their final paper payslip at the end of May and weekly paid employees will receive their final paper payslip during w/c 29 May. After this you will no longer receive a paper payslip.

Last year we advised we would also cease paper copies of P60’s. Historic P60s are now exclusively available on the People App; the 2022/23 P60s will be available from May.

Royal Mail will save over £200,000 each year by moving to digital payslips and P60s; this is the right thing to do for the business and it gives you greater and more immediate access to information about your earnings. 1,000s of colleagues have already switched to digital payslips over the past 6 months.

People App features can be accessed anytime, anywhere, 24/7. To register simply go to your App Store to download the Royal Mail People App.
If you do not have a smart phone you can still access the People App by using this weblink on a desktop computer, laptop, phone or tablet.

The Royal Mail People App is now available for all colleagues, helping you to connect with the information that matters to you anytime, anywhere.

Features include:

Another way to gaslight us?

If we no longer expect to receive the paper payslip in the post regularly every Thursday, we have even less proof that mail is being held back.
We would easily know something was up when most/all of the office didn't get theirs on time

Anyone thinking of leaving who may need their pay slips in the future should be aware that access to the App is removed on your final working day.

I don' use the app, I don't use my PAYG credit to save rm money, when I tried to download it on my tablet it stated, it wasn't suitable for my device.
Management can e-mail them to you, but being pig headed they wont instigate this.

There is nothing in the GDPR legislation that states it is no longer permissible
to email payslips. However, payroll bureaus should take steps to securely protect
each employee’s payslip. When emailing payslips, bureaus should ensure that all
payslips are password protected with a password that is uniquely chosen by the
employee. The payslip should be sent directly to the employee’s chosen email
address.
Where a generic and identical password is used for all employees, this could be
considered a breach of GDPR. In this scenario, the bureau could be seen as not
taking sufficient steps to offer the most secure environment to protect employee’s
personal pay information.
Furthermore, your payroll provider should provide secure encryption on all payslips
and automatically delete payslips that are being sent from their server. Check with
your provider to be certain that they are offering this level of protection. If not,
you should look for another payroll provider who does. For maximum security,
it is recommended (but not mandatory) to offer a secure self-service portalto
securely send and store payslips and other sensitive payroll documents.
