The Silent Majority of postal workers will vote yes to the deal.
Turkeys don't vote for an early Christmas.

A few militant Johnny come latelys on the board won't change that.


That's just knee jerk reactions to getting your hopes built up too much.
But reality will kick in when the ballot papers come out and the majority will vote yes, of that I am sure, they have no other practical choice given all the circumstances.
Their families,wives, husbands and kids will knock some sense into them and give them a reality check.
A yes vote is survival with an opportunity to thrive in the future.
A no vote is destruction and no future.

The vote poll on another thread currently shows a 78% no vote .

That's just knee jerk reactions to getting your hopes built up too much.

It is a terrible deal and anybody with any self respect will vote no to it .

I must remember my self respect as I apply for universal credit when RM withdraw the offer, make compulsory redundancies and impose the changes through executive action. I'm sure my family will understand - won't they??????

I can understand that a lot of Posties are worried about the Financial Implications of a NO Vote. In a way the decision is easy for you...... it's a YES! You could say the same for the so-called "Militant Marxists" who want to see this company Burn .... it's a definate NO vote from them.

As in most Ballots, or Elections, it's the wavering, undecided, section in the middle that will probably swing any vote.

Whether they'll be swayed by us lot launching into each other on RMC .... I doubt it. I think most of us have already made our minds up.

I think you're right. It's a horrible decision. Do you vote for your own interests or principles? The language from RM and CWU is sombre and subdued. If the CWU genuinely thought there was a better deal to be had it would have said so. Why would they collude with RM? What have the CWU got to gain by recommending the deal? If the CWU have seen RM financial books and have agreed that their financial position is perilous they had no choice but to recommend a yes vote. If the recommended no and it resulted in RM entering administration and thousands of job losses they would have been villified. Damned if you do damned if you don't. The CWU would not be allowed to tell others about RMs financial state so they can only recommend the deal. In the words of the song The Gambler " you got to know when to hold em , know when to fold em".
