Re: My summary of the deal.
Well, its the deal as it stands at the moment. A 'no' vote would mean the cwu would go back for further talks. The vote is our instructions to our union. They do their best either way. They cant predict the future with any certainty and neither can we. Can just read the agreement, see if we can live with it, otherwise vote against it with the associated risk and keep going.k979aaa wrote: ↑22 Apr 2023, 14:32It is not the best deal in the world but it is the only deal we are going to get unless you or someone else gets one!sixfoottwo wrote: ↑22 Apr 2023, 14:29I intend to and its not my job to think of alternative agreements, all I know its a terrible deal and you must be blind if you don't see thatk979aaa wrote: ↑22 Apr 2023, 14:26Vote as you wish what is your alternative agreement?sixfoottwo wrote: ↑22 Apr 2023, 14:22I understand why someone is accusing somebody else of being a mole as no one in thier right mind thinks this is a good deal ffs.

If they came out and said that they couldnt agree a good deal with RM then thats one thing but what we cant accept is them agreeing a s**t deal with Royal Mail and telling us it is good and one we should be happy with.
If you tolerate this, then your paid break will be next

Re: My summary of the deal.
People look at the short term look what RM were asking for and then look at the deal the pay is a side issue most want this later start times mitigated and it has been from 3 to 4 hour to 1 to 1 and a half. Still not going to help if you have commitments ie pick the kids up. And I don't like the sick pay nor the IHR or the PAY DEAL considering they got massive bounces and a payrise the deal sucks but it is the only one we have!Acca Dacca wrote: ↑22 Apr 2023, 17:28We arent paid the big bucks to get a good deal - Ward and Furey are.k979aaa wrote: ↑22 Apr 2023, 14:32It is not the best deal in the world but it is the only deal we are going to get unless you or someone else gets one!sixfoottwo wrote: ↑22 Apr 2023, 14:29I intend to and its not my job to think of alternative agreements, all I know its a terrible deal and you must be blind if you don't see thatk979aaa wrote: ↑22 Apr 2023, 14:26Vote as you wish what is your alternative agreement?sixfoottwo wrote: ↑22 Apr 2023, 14:22I understand why someone is accusing somebody else of being a mole as no one in thier right mind thinks this is a good deal ffs.

You're deffo off with the fairies mate if you believe everything that Royal Mail tell youjahbalon wrote: ↑22 Apr 2023, 02:35No deal is perfect lets face it, but this is a good deal, and one that we should accept, and see it as
a victory for postal workers and the CWU. For that is what it is.
A no vote would play right into the hands of Royal Mail and give them the cast iron excuse
to go in administration.
And we all know what that means for all of us, the DOLE![]()
Catastrophe does not even cover it![]()
Its a sh*te deal for posties and thats all there is to it. Vote NO
"A cast iron excuse to go in administration" - what f***ing planet are you on??
For a start, the later starts and finishes won't come into effect until next year. The new sick absence procedure won't start until August this year. In the meantime the company have already made revisions and have been lapsing duties continually deliberately failing the USO on a daily basis for the last six months whilst not paying any overtime to clear the backlog until theres at least 5 days of mail and the frame look as if a bombs hit it.
Please don't listen to the new stooges that are on here that set up accounts and are pro-Royal Mail.... Vote NO!!
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.

If you look at Royal Mails proposals from a year ago and the ones that are in this deal then nothing much has changed from Royal Mail's viewpoint.
Honesty is in short supply where the Union are concerned. They are desperately trying to polish a turd and trying to sell it to us when really they should be honest and say that its a sh*te deal and theres nothing they can do because the company are prepared to hit the self-destruct button if they don't get their own way.

Re: My summary of the deal.
So here example
I don't like the IHR could we get a better deal on this;
This is the new IHR HERE:6.4.3 Leaving Royal Mail through Ill Health (LTBIH)
Where employment with Royal Mail comes to an end due to ill health and the employee
meets the criteria for LtBIH with lump sum, they would receive a fixed compensation
payment of 16 weeks’ compensation. In addition, the employee will receive a payment in lieu
of notice and a payment in lieu of any accrued but untaken annual leave.
This change will apply to ill health compensation payment authorised on/after 1st August
2023.
While I detest the treatment of our long serving employees not getting this payment and would regard this as an abomination of our hard earned rights.
This is how it works take a small paragraph and say why you don't think this agreement is good enough.
So would love to hear your revisions to the agreement!

What does ''give us your best deal'' even mean? We arent in the position of negotiating any deal.
We know what parts of the deal, the only deal as you continue to say, that we dont like and most of us hoped Ward and Furey found these unacceptable to be included. They didnt.
Its obvious how the deal could be proposed to be improved - removal of some of the parts that we dont like. Getting that is another matter but thats not what you are asking.
