I suppose a 6% rise this year is ok-ish.

Everything else looks terrible to me. 4.30 finishes, PDA performance management, getting rid of prep frames, no sick pay, brutal attendance procedure, annualised hours (effectively), 2% rise next year etc etc.

How are the Union going to sell this to us? There must be SOME positives? Anyone...?
ruddy hell....

now this dude thinks we have a 6% pay rise....

you have a 10% pay rise, just some of it is a lump sum - it's that simple.... we have a 10% pay rise!

The only good thing about this is the solidarity amongst employees because we are the union and this sham deal isn't getting the green light. Another positive is that Ward and ST will have to swallow their pride and acknowledge that they have got it very wrong

I'd like to hear from the Union what the alternative is if a no vote is returned.
It must be very bad if they are recommending this deal. So ask not what is good about the deal and more what would the event of no vote look like.
It definitely will not be get back round the table and re negotiate. Those biscuits, sorry, talks have been done.
Will probably be everything coming in anyway and you don't get your pay increase either.
This will be the only way a yes vote will come, if this is the scenario going forward.
Either way, I think the CWU days in royal mail may be numbered.

Norris, a lump sum is not a pay rise. A pay rise increases your salary (and pensionable benefits) and any future pay rises would be an increase on this. A lump sum is just a one off payment into your bank account and is then excluded from any future salary increases going forward.

If we are going to end up with far less indoor prep at some point in the near future, then we need the CWU to step in and limit the miles we walk each day. I think there should be a 10 mile limit anyway. We should be allowed to drive back to the office once that is hit and the PDA should tell us when it is hit.

I think the union are looking out for themselves now to be honest, they know RM are on the brink of finishing them I mean look how they have ran rings round them, shameful.

All the backing we've gave them and for what, nothing but a dressed up agreement which is frankly scandalous.

The resulting no vote(hopefully) may signal the end of Wards self serving incompetent leadership of the union. That’s about the only positive I see.

Ok, I won't use the words 'pay rise' - Instead it's a 10% increase in what you would have got paid in the tax year of 2021/2022.

You mention that if the £500 was part of our salary then it would be pensionable... it's swings and roundabouts as you can also say there is benefits to having a lump sum - paying off debts, splashing out on something, investing.

People are just choosing to ignore the 2% we already had, and choosing to ignore the £500 is another 2% of your pay, and that next year instead of that lump sum you will have a 2% increase in pay. = 10%

10 miles was exceeded in ours over 10 years ago.

Allowances not going.
Can mean a lot of money to the lucky few.
This is something they should have bargained on to get us a better deal , I thought they represented everyone, not just a minority on historical perks ,
