In the 1st video the woman states we need to catch up with our competitors ,
our competitors do not leave calling cards they just leave on doorstep or throw over side gate .
in the last 5 years I have had many items left by amazon/yodel/EVRI mostly over side gate and some on doorstep (main road) full view of passing public
never once received a card through letterbox to say where item has been left .
our competitors use slave labour owner drivers ,

And we need to catch up to what exactly ? .

As Ricky and Simon always say - “we’re just thinking of the customer’s needs first”.

People- do not doorstep or leave anywhere that puts your job at risk, because you can be damn certain the first time you get a denial of receipt complaint you will be down the road.
Bring it back and do it the next day= less delivery time the next day.
Do what RM want, they have brought this in so let's all make sure we do it properly.

I can already feel my pi$$ed-offness levels rising at writing out a card knowing full well it was a waste of time taking the packet out for a second delivery attempt as the customer is never in. Looks like I'll be leaving more stuff every day as the faffing about with all this scanning looks time consuming. Oh well, never mind.

Ah yes another idea brought in by some body who has never done the job. Sounds good on paper to them, in reality it's a sh*t show waiting to happen.

Or...OR! Hear me out. Maybe they KNOW it will be unworkable and pee customers and posties off alike. All part of the greater plan to bring the company to its knees so they can carve off the more profitable parts of the business and leave the rest to the Government/taxpayer

what about specials how does that work, if we don't put them back at frame and give to callers are we supposed to still scan indoor and the rest of the process then hand it to callers or are callers to scan the specials indoor?

I don't get how anybody in the business thinks that a customer out on Day 1 will suddenly be in at roughly the same time on Day 2, we all now the customers who are likely to be in and the one's likely to be always out when we call.

The trial process carried out had results that met the same FTD level as any other day. Approx 95%

I.e 10000 parcel day 1 9500 delivered
500 parcels day 2 475 delivered

According to the company this means 25 parcels out of every 10K not meeting FTD(sic) targets. Therefore a big improvement.

We all know why it’s happening but those are their(approximate) figures.

I consider myself fairly intelligent (so why am I at Royal Mail some of you might say!); i have a degree in accounting, I’m all set to take early retirement, I know in the region of 500 songs on my guitar, I can cover any of near on 50 rounds in my DO.

But I just find all this confusing. I mean, I understand what they are asking us to do and how to do it, but all the information, the various P739s, it’s overloaded information. Half of our ‘customers’ can’t even understand the bit that says ‘wait 24 hours’ so how on earth are they going to process all this extra information?
The day is gonna come when we’re all gonna have to testify.

Probably a good way to conduct posties when we get it wrong, we've gone from just scan at the door before IA to having to now scan each parcels around half a dozen times a day! Parcel Collect is another scanning nightmare.

I suppose that on a Saturday, it will be Sunday as the next day, this will probably result in much more people working that day, and down the line it will become the norm
