RMCtv : Auto-redelivery : FAQ's, SOP's and Videos
From 2 May 2023, if you're not home and your parcels won't fit through the letter box, or need a signature, posties will automatically redeliver the next working day.
Will add more info when I get it.
1: Will the new P739 be considered for re-design due to the small space provided for barcode information. The cards are currently designed for 1 or maybe 2 parcels to any one single address. However, more parcels to the same address would require more cards? Maybe if stickers are supplied multiple stickers could be applied to the 739 but thats not always the case!
2:In the webinar it was suggested that after the first attempt, all failed parcels are scanned including non barcoded parcels! how is this possible?
3:Again in the webinar it is suggested that all failed 1st attempt parcels be scanned, does this include the 2D parcels (not scanned "ready for delivery") or just the tracked items?
The new P739 design has been agreed with commercial etc, if we have multiple items then we would need to use another card (as now). Any items that we leave a P739 for (hopefully not many) that are unbarcoded would need adding as part of the RNDI scan by clicking on the + symbol to add.
The following day any unbarcoded items from the previous day will adding into S2CR by again clicking the + symbol, this is so we pick up any customer instructions.
Lastly, any items whether barcoded or not if not delivered would need scanning/adding back at the unit, hope this helps.
You will do everything as you normally do on Day 1 it is important that you use the P3756 sticker to confirm that it has had 1st attempt if No Answer. on day 2 you can check by using the PDA using the item Postcode to see if there has been a customer instruction. If no customer instruction make 2nd attempt
Non barcoded items are treated exactly the same . Any inflight request will be picked up via Cleo rather than the RFD scan
There is additional functionality that has been added to allow you to check, on 2nd attempt, to see if there has been a customer instruction using the item postcode

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

I have a question.
Day 1, you follow all their instructions to the letter.
Day 2, part of your delivery doesn’t go out due to the “successful implementation of the recent revision”, what happens to the parcels that should be redelivered?
Remember we only have so much time.

And that, ladies and gentlemen, is how a company as sneaky, and deceitful, as Royal Mail is, introduces doorstepping on a hitherto unprecedented scale.

OMG, more stuff for us to do!! Stickers (that'll probably run out) to put on, different scans, 739's (that will probably also run out). And the customer is going to be pixxed off coz they can't just swing by callers office if they're near by next day. Is just silly.

Why fill out address on new p739 when you are going to return item next day surely just leave a card with tracking numbers ,special numbers, recorded numbers on and then state I'LL BE BACK

Re: RMCtv : Auto-redelivery : FAQ's, SOP's and Videos
I like how they basically tell us to tell them "piss off collecting your stuff until we've tried twice".
The CSP aggro level is about to sharply rise, and it's bad enough with people coming in on the same damn day, even before their own postie has made it back, to collect stuff. "Oh but it's usually ready" "Why post the card if I can't collect it?" "Can't you dig through 400 parcels and find my hairpin right the f**k now, never mind the 5 people behind me who read the card and waited til the next day?"/

I really hope theres an "opt out of auto-redelivery" form like there is for junk mail. I get a feeling far more people would fill that form out.

Re: RMCtv : Auto-redelivery : FAQ's, SOP's and Videos
where the hell are we going to get time for all of this??
Come into work today at 7.20 and started to do D2Ds , after 5 mins got called up to do IPS till 8.30
finished off doing my 5 D2Ds and put my 1st letter in the frame at 8.50.
by the time I had thrown everything off done vehicle checks and got to the start of my round it was 10.10
Leaves me 3 hours 50 mins to do the round and I have to have a 30 min break in between
Round takes 5 hours and this is without all this bollox added on
Place is a joke, who thinks all this up and would love to get the person who thought this up on my round

This will cause massive confusion for posties and customers alike. As others have said we barely have enough time to do the job as it is.

So is it 2 different cards? This is some trash idea customers can already book re delivery for when they are in or just come in next day to pick up.

The video was over 5 minutes long, I’m bringing back 40 to 70 packets & parcels a day, by the time I’ve scanned them all out, I’ll be scanning them back in without leaving the office

Re: RMCtv : Auto-redelivery : FAQ's, SOP's and Videos
Like I always say, just follow the instructions, I usually return to the office 10 mins before finish, I think with all this additional work I’ll be returning at least 20 mins before finish.
What people need to get there heads around is that when you are at work, you should follow all reasonable instructions. All of these are taking additional time.
Scan all tracked parcels - 10 - 20 mins
Van check - 5-10 mins
Auto redelivery - who knows
Take Break - up to 40 mins
Delivery 1pm specials out of sequence - town 5-10 mins, rural - up to 30 mins
It’s Royal Mails time, not yours. The best thing to do is with a smile on your face just ask for the priorities up to your time.
We get £13:50 per hour. Not enough to worry
