You wouldn't think so, diversity of opinion isn't well respected on this forum.postieblueshirt wrote: ↑15 Apr 2023, 22:53Are you not both in the same UNION I think you need to look up the meaning of the word..milly wrote: ↑15 Apr 2023, 22:35Been there, done that!enskied wrote: ↑15 Apr 2023, 22:09Get those bags on your back Milly..milly wrote: ↑15 Apr 2023, 21:50You are quite correct, it will be Delivery Staff that make or break this deal.aiden01 wrote: ↑15 Apr 2023, 21:21Just rem if its voted in it will be voted in by del staff as they outnumber processing by at least 3-1 so enuf crap about where people work ffs.enskied wrote: ↑15 Apr 2023, 19:29AHH , you work in processing.milly wrote: ↑15 Apr 2023, 19:12Not really how much more money were you willing to lose?another £1500?
Then what kind of deal would you be looking at to get your 3k back?
Nuff said
I think most people have had enough of this saga.
If the deal is approved I may have to remind our more Millitant colleagues that it was you lot that voted for it.
Get a taste of what it's like on delivery. We don't get the chance to amble around your rural location . The onus is on us.
Don't you Delivery Guys shaft us Processing Guys in the Ballot!
People have to make up their own minds how they vote and for their decision to be respected.

If we got what we voted for last time we would be on a 35 HR contract (AS AGREED BY THE WAY) that's a £25-30 pay rise in my eyes as they have just saved that I feel I've been given a long pointy stick up the hiny hole with no reach around

I agree . Whatever deal the union recommend the membership will vote for it .Nickvilla20 wrote: ↑15 Apr 2023, 17:39The carrot of a lump sum will get it over the line and 95% of the workforce won’t read the agreementtoonshola wrote: ↑15 Apr 2023, 17:38I’m gunna try not to be too negative until I read the full details next week but my hopes are not too high that this

My support in the vote for it.
Time will tell.

Re: Negotiators agreement reached
Whatever the deal is please remember these important factors
1. The taxman will take over 20% of any lump sum in Tax and NI.
2. Any pay rise below inflation is not a pay rise, and again the Tax man will take 20% of that anyway
3.Royal mail have increased stamp prices twice, last year at almost 12% and this year at 16%, yet we only saw an imposed rise of 2% + whatever this deal will be, consider that when you decide to vote.
4.Despite whatever changes to your T&C are agreed, Royal Mail will come back for more, even before the agreement has run its course.
5.Latest predictions from the IMF say inflation will now last longer than most earlier predictions so you have to ask are you happy to tie in to a poor deal that gives you a below inflation rise that may only match inflation as it was a over year ago, but not until 2024.
6. Are you prepared to accept all the changes they want for the true value of the cash on offer, and is it fair and reasonable in your eyes.
7.Are you prepared to see and accept shareholders raking cash in,again, almost as soon as the ink on the paper is dry, following an agreement. Proving the BS about company finances false, but you could not do a thing about it.
These are just some of the things to consider when we see the deal, I know there are more but these are the first ones that came to my mind.

But if the union won't call strikes, what can you do. RM knew they had them on the ropes, they've been one step ahead all through the dispute. The only way this could have gone better was if strikes had been long at the very start to create maximum disruption and generate interest from the media/public/government. The softly softly approach was literally a waste of time and money, and sadly reps have been left suspended/sacked for supporting a series of strikes that were going nowhere.

This may all be true, but I’d rather have an agreement, a pay rise and a lump sum, instead of having changes rammed through anyway without them.Flashman_ wrote: ↑16 Apr 2023, 00:34Whatever the deal is please remember these important factors

If they don't go back to 9.30 finishes, 8am on at Saturday, second delivery, paid weekly in cash , the grey uniform with ties , a ban on shorts , letters only , all packets thrown out to the packet man and smoking on your bench and the return of cycles then I'm voting No.

Am I right in thinking the delivery staff will get shafted as usual? I don’t like the commit to deliver part. No matter the amount of work you will stay out and complete I’ve heard. Let’s hope that is incorrect.

The UK Government has two choices, either to let inflation run or default on the debt.
Governments will almost always try and inflate the debt away.
When they say the are going to tackle inflation be aware that they have no intention of doing so.
This is a massive transfer of wealth from the Workers and savers to the wealthy.
This is why the media continue to try and divide us in the hope that collectively we don't notice that we are being impoverished.

Re: Negotiators agreement reached
OK people, most of the ins and outs have been discussed already , some great questions and answers, in previous disputes, pay offers, conditions offers, when the CWU executives propose that the workforce accept the offer on pay and conditions, normally this is voted yes by the workforce, it would be difficult to see an alternative outcome if the CWU, recommended the yes vote. I think 77% or so people balloted for strike action , if the hidden 23% now take part in the vote, I wonder what that will result in? The time is ideal for the offer , April is the time of year when all sorts of costs council tax ect, normally rise, So RM know this is normally true, at the end of the day people will have to make a choice................

Re: Negotiators agreement reached
On the glossy two page sheet released earlier this week it said start times to change by 60-90 minutes. I'm north of the border so expecting 90. Then with the seasonal 24 minutes in winter and the 30 minutes flex which didn't seem so optional in this agreement. Means in the winter it will be 2.30hrs later.
As people say the devil will be in the detail but that sounds crap.

Remember that delivery staff outnumber all those in RDCs, MCs, and probably MDECs combined by at least 2:1, probably more likely 3:1 or even 4:1 with the increase i the use of casuals/agency in MCs, so it'll be voted in or out by delivery staffShirtbuttons wrote: ↑16 Apr 2023, 06:51Am I right in thinking the delivery staff will get shafted as usual?
