Royal Mail said that’s it for talks, but the union said that they expect a deal this week. How can they expect a deal if they are not talking. The union have strung their member along and will continue to do so because they realised that there is no deal to be had that the staff will like.

I leave next Saturday and wish everyone the best, but it doesn’t look good and any deal that you will get will only last a year at best before RM coming asking for more.

I said it at the start that the job was finished and nothing was going to save it.

A colleague was told this morning by our rep they are talking again

Our rep said they're being "well cagey but implied there's some movement"... Whether that movement is directly into the nearest toilet we don't know!

Problems are change to sick time and later starts,but there has been changed at this moment we all need to relax and trust the CWU at the end of the day we have a start and finish time

I might be wrong but I don't think they ever said that they'd strike a deal by this week. All they said was that the talks were progressing (take that as you will) to the point where they thought striking was not the best strategy this time round and were willing to engage with talks again. But, they have left the door open rather than outright saying the talks have resumed like they have normally do. So, guessing neither parties have talked since then as posted on another thread that Ricky Macaulay was on Workplace asking members for questions about the two proposals presented to the CWU. Good luck on your future though bro, definitely made the right call!

If this was the case then surely the CWU would have put RM’s latest offering out there for the membership to vote on?

Plenty on here were asking for a ballot - and who knows,with the £1k bribe attached it may well have been accepted,thus getting Dave & co. out of a very tricky spot. But that didn’t happen…

You would like to think every working minute is being spent on this dispute, I’d really like to c an actual break down or the minutes for these discussions….also perhaps need a separate union for those of us north of the Watford gap
