It will end up a non-service day, but if not I'll be watching the Coronation regardless.
If the procession starts at 3, I'll finish work at the normal time. If the procession starts at 10:30 I'll go to work and be home by 10:30. I'm not missing the crowning of our monarch, the first for over 70 years, because some ass-hole jobsworth says we have to . End of Rant :left:
Me too.

So are we working on this day or not? Im already dreading the thought of delivering to roads with street parties going on, that’ll be fun!

AFAIK it's yet to be declared to be a non-service day so as it stands anyone with duty, docket or SA for that Saturday will work it as normal

With possible street parties, it would be difficult to park and a higher risk of mail & packets being lifted by opportunists.

Why should I? As someone earlier said, we are called Royal Mail. Forget all the marketing and the privatisation stuff, it's called Royal Mail for a reason!

Not seen any mention anywhere of RM applying to OFCOM for it to be a non-service day or of OFCOM granting it as a non-service day so I'm assuming it'll be a normal working day in all offices (of all types)
I would think that OFCOM won't even consider a request to make the Saturday a NSD, given how they are failing the USO on a daily basis.
It'll probably be the opposite so they won't then have to worry about us failing another day, given they don't seem to be that worried by the recent PC's findings.

i'd guess that they will make it a non service day just to pi55 off those who are scheduled to work it and also give all the contracted sunday workers it off along with the monday too and hope they will blame the cwu and quit the union

Can't just give us another day off just coz we still have Royal in the name. Coronation, day off, funeral, day off, wedding, day off, jubilee, day off, new royal baby, day off, it'd be crazy

If you have annual leave booked and the 'Saturday' becomes a non-service day do you get credited the hours...i.e like a Bank Holiday?
