I went to my local Royal Mail sorting office today to see if they could give me anymore information why my parcel is stuck at LANGLEY HWDC IPS, all they could tell me was the same information as I could see on my tracking.
They told me to call 0345 774 0740 and stay on the line and I should be put through to someone who can help with my parcel, I called the number when I got home, but was in a queue for 30minutes, will try again over the weekend.

Hi designman7, so frustrating! I got a reply to my tweet which was actually helpful. So my parcel was dispatched on 11.3.23 despite the tracking saying it’s at HWDC Langley ,I did read somewhere that tracking isn’t updated even when it’s sent. I’m unable to track the parcel once it’s left the UK, they will only update tracking once it’s been delivered.

Hi Lindylu42, that is quite helpful, maybe my parcel has been despatched too, but the tracking has not been updated.
Did your tracking show the same as mine, please see below:-

I have a parcel still showing as "LANGLEY HWDC IPS" since the 11th on the tracking also. Thing is, it's just been delivered to Canada!

Result on the delivery, but shocking service. DPD next time methinks?

Never had this problem with ParcelForce International, although that service is considerably more expensive, hmmm...

@ littlegreenman - Yes I used Parcelforce International before and their service is excellent, tracking was spot on, they updated their tracking daily.... I do agree that their service was more expensive, but at least I knew where my parcel was.

@ Lindylu42 Lets hope our parcels arrive soon.... I have informed my friend that I may send the product again using Parcelforce International, unfortunately it will be a very late Birthday Present thanks to Royalmail not doing their job correct.

Once an item leaves the UK there's nothing that RM can do if the postal service in the destination country doesn't scan the item

@ SpacePhoenix - Royalmail could update their tracking and say that it's been despatched overseas instead of it saying "We have received your item at LANGLEY HWDC IPS, our international processing centre. Your item is being prepared for despatch overseas."

How hard is it for them to just update customers, we pay for their service....

How long does it normally take for Royalmail to reply back from a Direct Message on Twitter - I sent to @RoyalMailHelp.

An update, my parcel was delivered today in Australia such a relief.
I had a reply on Twitter after 24 hours on a weekday. Wishing you good luck & fingers crossed that your parcel arrives this week

Hi guys! Not sure if anyone is still following this thread. I’m in a similar situation. Sent a parcel to Poland ages ago payed for tracked but how can this service be called tracked I’m not sure. : This is what I’ve been getting for a week now:

It is an anniversary present for my brother and his wife, A handmade blanket. That’s be awful if they lost it- I can’t replicate it. But maybe like people above have said it actually left England and it’s on its way. Just annoyed I payed extra for tracked if it really isn’t.

Hi all,

I have sent important legal documents to Ireland last Monday, and it’s been sitting at Langley since last Tuesday morning.

The current tracking message is “item leaving the uk”. Although, both An Post and Royal Mail appear to not know what’s going on with it.

Does anyone have any idea what’s happened to it? I cannot afford to have the documents go missing.

Basically, that means that it is probably in Irish customs.
