Anyone remember colleague shares?

I was going through some very old paperwork and came across my colleague share certificates lol. They were supposedly worth over £1200 at one point. I wonder what they are worth now. Anyone remember these? And what terms and conditions we gave up in order to one day 'cash' these in?

Correct. These were never actually shares.

Wasn’t these classed as phantom shares so a compromise was negotiated with the union so that we got a £100 at Xmas every year since.

At the very time to 'cash in' the phantom shares, royal mail said they had no money. Sounds familiar.

yes, as soon as we announced strike dates last July they ''inexplicably'' started losing 1 million pound a day, and been getting worse ever since. the 758m profit vanished up Thompson's arse, and every last penny the company had is gone now. even worse the union now seem to believe it.

They were worth about as much as the paper they were printed on, so max value was probably in Q1 2020 during the great toilet paper shortage.

I've still got mine in the loft along with Consignia stuff including the swirl pin badge I got for my 10 year service, might be worth something to a collector in the future, should I be short of money
