Absolutely nothing as the committee has zero power.

Now the backslapping and showboating is over, he'll move onto his next target that furthers his career.

If you watch the video at 26'49" you will have the answer.
They are preparing a report and will refer to regulators.
Darren Jones goes on to talk about the lack of power of Select Committees in this country but the fact that they are an important role in our democracy.

Jones has zero clout when it comes to the running of the company, as does the CWU. Jones can only refer the USO failings to OFCOM, the CWU can only ask the workforce to strike. The amount of time you see peed off posties saying "e-mail Darren Jones", "e-mail Darren Jones"....as if he is going to make everything good :arrrghhh :arrrghhh

Jones knows how poorly the current board are running RM, as does anyone else with an interest, but when he has passed his report to OFCOM, his interest in RM will vanish as he moves on to his next grilling.

RM are using the select Committee as a tool to broadcast to the Government that they cannot sustain the USO. Mr Jones had the simple and easy task of grilling the defenseless RM bosses because this whole dispute is an agenda by the RM. The bait has been well and truly taken

MPs are having 3 weeks off for Easter starting 30th of March then a week for the coronation, two weeks for Whitsun and then the house will be in recess from 20th July until the end of the party conference season in October, Apart from about 9 days in September to deal with unfinished business.
There doesn't seem to be a date for the state opening and the next session after that, which will be the last one before there has to be an election.

Perhaps Darren Jones should haul OFCOM in front of the committee and ask them why they are allowing RM to consistently fail the USO! Should also ask OFCOM what purpose they serve ...

Darren Jones has done and said more for us in a few weeks than the union executive has done in years.

I hope he does progress in his career.

And as for us.. well time the union executive carry us forward.

Other than showing the public how corrupt and incompetent the RM CEO and board are there is nothing more they can do unfortunately.

RM is a private company so the committee can do pretty much nothing else!
Union what Union? Do we have a union?

Actually, as Royal Mail is the holder of the USO a lot can be done being Statutory duty..

We can debate the issue in Parliament over Ofcom and Royal Mail stripped of their licence and USO responsibility.

The Postal Services Act does not state Royal Mail as the USO providers, it states "Postal Operator"

But the Tories have their own Agenda with Royal Mail, so that will not happen

The union is too focused on putting their eggs in this basket I'd say. Isn't much the committee can do bar a telling off and a fine which RM sneeze at and probably us that as more of an excuse to shaft us with a lousy deal. Best case scenario would these three idiots are thrown in the slammer for fraud but as pointed out in the past, that's not happened in YEARS in these cases of lying. It's once again up to the union, and take that as you will on how much faith you have with them.
