Secondly you are wrong. In some cases people are finishing early because there is insufficient indoor and outdoor work to fill their contracted hours.
Accusing everyone who finishes early of not doing the job properly is as stupid as accusing everyone who can't complete of being slow or a piss taker.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Re: Leaving union ?
The people who continually finish early day after day in my office do not do the job properly, and that my friend is a 100% fact!clashcityrocker wrote: ↑10 Mar 2023, 18:37Firstly there is no need to shout.dennyboycox wrote: ↑10 Mar 2023, 18:06

And when you do come back to the office (if early) you're well within your right to take toilet break, make sure pouches are put away properly, 739s booked in where appropriate etc before the DOM thinks about giving you anything extra to do.

If, and it seems more likely than not, we get a poor deal, again, who in their right mind will lose, what was it, 18 days pay, ever again?
Not to mention the bastards have snatched away some of our annual leave this time, too.
Always the way in the post, go on strike, lose shitload of money, get a paltry pay rise, and walk back into a worse job than before.
So glad I've nearly served my time.

10 mins to pouch off, but can be a little longer if that includes an ‘extended’ toilet break.

Doorstepping and bum rushing around? Yes.
Coming in half an hour to an hour early to finish early? Yes.
Actually doing the job properly and by the book? No.

Re: Leaving union ?
Unfortunately people in our office are still coming in early but then scanning in 20 minutes after they’ve been in! They then don’t take breaks but finish 40 minutes early these guys are now complaining about being given extra lapsing you couldn’t make it up. Well done you fools

Re: Leaving union ?
EXACTLY! This is so completely flawed it's unreal and can't believe the union was even duped to even agreeing with this s**t. Majority of these idiots that are running around or/and coming in early have been in this company for YEARS. Still have the mindset of "job and finish" so they are not going to change their ways now.Splappy_McSplap wrote: ↑09 Mar 2023, 20:40What I don't understand is how the union insist on a resign after every sufficiently large revision, which just means that those runners will leave the walk they ruined, which was adjusted for them, and sign for an unruined walk (bumping someone lower in seniority off their walk in the process), so they can finish an hour early running round that, and leave a ruined walk that is impossible to complete for someone lower down the chain to have to endure.
Should be made to sleep in the s**t that they themselves created. But no! Anyone that signs for this walk or reserve is put on it, they don't have a snow ball chance in hell. Meanwhile, the clowns are free to choose what walks they want but still continue to come in early for nothing

Exact same thing is happening over here. Completely pissing me off because they know they shouldn't be doing it when they scan in to make it look like they've come in on their time. Yet majority of the bloody walk has been throw in and on their parcels the moment you walk through the door.Wheelbarrow wrote: ↑11 Mar 2023, 21:33Unfortunately people in our office are still coming in early but then scanning in 20 minutes after they’ve been in! Re: Leaving union ?
Ridiculous I just don’t get it, maybe they are scared they are too slow at prep or worrying about d2d items, our manager has said no early starts and scan in on time but people just ignoring it but as far as he is concerned people start on time so the extra lapsing is now going on our frame as all he looks at is finishing time, these guy willShadedpostie wrote: ↑11 Mar 2023, 21:41Exact same thing is happening over here. Re: Leaving union ?
If your office start times are properly aligned with your mail arrivals, starting early simply means sitting around doing nothing later on.
On days when we "flex up" people are brought in early on overtime.
Those people who start early without being paid overtime make no difference to our dispatch time and consequently make no difference to our lapsing plan.
People start early because they are different, insecure or incompetent.
