It's between that and the childish behaviour, backstabbing, kneejerk hostility, snitching and slander that goes on between the posties who are supposed to be sticking together and on the same side.
I don't have to assume that it's only my office because I see the same exact behaviour here.
It makes it almost effortless for RM to divide and conquer when the posties themselves are already doing the division.
Add in - taking the p1ss out of people who are struggling, rather than offer help.
All part of the reasons why I gave up with the job. RM don't have to divide the workforce, the workforce are more than capable of doing it themselves.
Royal Mail
failing the workforce, failing the public and deliberately failing mail on a daily basis for too many years.
In 1989 we had a revision going on. A guy came in to do his round and he's mate prepped the round while he was on nightshift. The blokes went ballistic. That was years before the technology we have today. Nowadays they take the PDAs home so they can clock off at home. Take the battery out and bring it back the next day. Postmen. Killing their jobs for 34 years. Still thinking they are so smart they'll never get caught out for 34 years the union say do your jobs properly. So let's all leave the union
Lads I am in job over 40 yrs @ postmen are their own worst enemies on delivery @ not them all by no means.
But in our office 6 was taken out @ guys still finishing b4 their finish time @ coming in early etc.
But it looks like @ hope I am wrong @ that Royal Mail have more or less achieved their aims at our expense @ 1800pds literally @ which we will never recoup.
So why continue to pay subs to an union which as failed its members imo

They'll have a shock when SISO gets brought into their office

They already have it, didn't you read his post? All DOs have it.
They are taking their PDA home and signing out at home.

How has the union failed its members when you’ve clearly said posties are still coming in early , rushing around and finishing early even after walks have been taken out ? I mean seriously have a think about it .

...where the PDA actuals will pinpoint where and at what time. Are people really this thick??

Spot on , so many blame the union rather than look in the mirror, we have a start and finish time , start on time take breaks go home on time,it’s amazing how many posties refuse to do that, even after walks have been taken out , absolute madness.
They could always take their time and do the job properly..don't read address while you walk, try neighbours, use trolley where you can and don't run or walk at breakneck speed.
What if they do all that and still finish early?
On some streets, on some days I have a 20% call rate.
How exactly do I string the duty out until my finish time?
Why would I even bother?
Guys in our office do all i said everyday and manage to string it out maybe your office has smaller walks .Don't bother if you don't want to it's no skin of my nose just pointing out how we do it and we don't get sent back out again with anything thats left over
So you don't want people to do the job properly, you want them to do it slowly?
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.
Doing the job properly, working at a reasonable pace and taking breaks will probably help to keep the spotlight off your office but ultimately it won't protect jobs that aren't sustainable with the workload we have.
It isn't 1995 and revisions aren't just a cook up between the rep and manager.
They are based on a number, that number is WIPWH.
If it says an office has too many hours for the predicted work those hours will come out no matter whether you get around your delivery like a speed walker or moonwalk around, come back an hour early or wait until it's dark o'clock.
Surely people leaving the union on mass just plays into the company’s hands and leave us vulnerable to more attacks in the future. Speak to others who work for other delivery companies and they will tell you they wish that had a union.
I honestly really despair at some the comments on here recently the union have a difficult job they have a company who have turn very aggressive against its workforce and a workforce who think it’s rubbish.
I actually think us posties need to take some of blame for this too. Not doing the job properly, coming in early has hurt our cause. Problem is to many of us aren’t bothered what happens to others and long as their job is ok.
It’s very much a I’m alright Jack attitude
Very true, we have had a revision and lost 10 duties and there are still muppetts running around. Coming in early and not taking breaks. I do not give no free minutes to RM, either cut off or book, but please don't work for free. RM is not a charity.

If you speed walk around it might give them scope to try and remove more hours. Might.
If you moonwalk around your office will fail. Fail the USO.
And then what?
