What I don't understand is how the union insist on a resign after every sufficiently large revision, which just means that those runners will leave the walk they ruined, which was adjusted for them, and sign for an unruined walk (bumping someone lower in seniority off their walk in the process), so they can finish an hour early running round that, and leave a ruined walk that is impossible to complete for someone lower down the chain to have to endure.

Stay in the union and reject an unsatisfactory deal. The union represents us, if we have to tell the people at the top to do better, we can.

People start early, work through their breaks, run round, doorstep, get back early and finish early. Exactly the opposite of what your rep asks you to do.

Not every person in the office does this but after years of this it's noticed and revisions are planned in offices. Impossible revisions. Shock horror!

They could always take their time and do the job properly..don't read address while you walk, try neighbours, use trolley where you can and don't run or walk at breakneck speed.

What if they do all that and still finish early?
On some streets, on some days I have a 20% call rate.
How exactly do I string the duty out until my finish time?
Why would I even bother?

The final nails in Britain's postal service are being well and truly hammered in right now.

If, and it seems more likely than not, we get a poor deal, again, who in their right mind will lose, what was it, 18 days pay, ever again?

Not to mention the bastards have snatched away some of our annual leave this time, too.

Always the way in the post, go on strike, lose shitload of money, get a paltry pay rise, and walk back into a worse job than before.

So glad I've nearly served my time.

Me too ,near the end of my time feeling sorry for the younger ones ,they dont seem to have any fight in them these days,oh well just need to keep my head down now for a little while longer and my time is done.

I agree thick postmen and women. Glad I'm out soon. I watched for years people killing their jobs and it just doesn't sink in. Even now they are all trying to fiddle the clock out system. The obsession with finishing early just will never ever go away. Of course let's blame the union

Probably because some of the time the duties taken out are by members who do the duties correctly so it’s easier to get rid of those duties as mangers believe that those duties holders are at it

I agree, if you are angry, that anger should not be towards the union.
The union have had to balance the expectations of the members with what I see has a planned attack.
They haven’t failed to get us the best deal possible yet but they will most likely not get us the deal that we hoped for.
We, as the Union will all fail if members leave in large numbers, weakening the unions already limited powers.

Surely people leaving the union on mass just plays into the company’s hands and leave us vulnerable to more attacks in the future. Speak to others who work for other delivery companies and they will tell you they wish that had a union.

I honestly really despair at some the comments on here recently the union have a difficult job they have a company who have turn very aggressive against its workforce and a workforce who think it’s rubbish.

I actually think us posties need to take some of blame for this too. Not doing the job properly, coming in early has hurt our cause. Problem is to many of us aren’t bothered what happens to others and long as their job is ok.

Guys in our office do all i said everyday and manage to string it out maybe your office has smaller walks .Don't bother if you don't want to it's no skin of my nose just pointing out how we do it and we don't get sent back out again with anything thats left over

It's between that and the childish behaviour, backstabbing, kneejerk hostility, snitching and slander that goes on between the posties who are supposed to be sticking together and on the same side.

I don't have to assume that it's only my office because I see the same exact behaviour here.

It makes it almost effortless for RM to divide and conquer when the posties themselves are already doing the division.
