Of course you would have to declare your condition to any future employer.Yyou will still have to sign the IHR papers which should show the amount of retirement money you would receive. I would imagine you could change your mind before signing, if you were still unsure.

I’m going down that route but after the first o h report it left it open that I could return. I want to leave so I don’t what to do now ?

You do not have to declare anything to any future employer, you were ill health retired. All it means is that you can no longer physically do the job.
The only exception being if you are disabled. The new employer cannot make reasonable adjustments if. they are unaware you are currently disabled

Aren't you normally asked these questions on a job application form? I know I have previously.

If there is a health questionnaire on the application form and your medical condition can expose yourself and others to potential hazards, then yes, you declare it. Failure can result in dismissal.
