At the time of writing, (Wed 24) I can say easy week. Monday four bags, could've done it in less but theres a lot of wall jumping. Tuesday three bags, one of packets and signed for, one bang on weight the other illegally heavy but to terraces so I knocked it out in no time, bike on pavement job. Always easier to stay on bike if theres a lot of gaps. So far Monday Out of office 7.30 In 10, half a round docket, back office at 11.30. Put d2d in as I forgot Saturday, home 12.30
Tuesday Out of office 6.45, did the bag of packets and sigs (pre written slip left cards, never took my arse off my bike once.) Back for missorts at 7.15 but of course they hadn't arrived. Went and had butty, missorts in 7.50, took them and my heavy bag out at 8, back in office 9.30, no docket. Put d2d in aswell as four bundles of mech that had come in for
Wednesday, head start with mech came in handy, came in to 1 bundle of mech, and more letters and flats than I have ever seen. Two separate packet bags, 9 bags of mail. Out of office 8.30, back office 11.30
Eyes getting heavy already, night all.

re: Writing is on the wall
Hi,
What you;ve got to worry about
1. TNT now have over 1.2bn items going Downstream Access (expect this to rise by 30% 2007)
2. TNT will be delivering some of this mail themselves within 12 months
3. Royal Mail are implementing machinary to improve sorting rates, and also automate walk sequencing, rumour has it another 30,000 jobs to go.
4. It is no secret that senior management in RM expect to have a staff of about 100,000 once this is done.
5. Senior management have kept away from taking out frontline jobs since Single Daily Delivery because there were so many jobs to take in the centre of the business. 3,000 management redundancies delivered more savings than the whole of Single Daily Delivery (fact!)
You can tell I am talking rubbish, but I am not and the warning signs should be there in your delivery rounds in the coming months and next 1-2 years

Interesting figures Fozz.
Num 4 is very interesting,it's something i'm trying to get my head around.
Yes we could have(wern't they thrown out by the French) these new super dooper machines but i'd be amazed if there was any agreement that we would agree to in that our walks would be say 5 maybe 6 hrs long.
To cut jobs elsewhere may happen but delivery staff surely can't be cut that much.
And overall,is it possable to run RM on that staffing levels!!!
Maybe a bit of nieveity on my part,i've not got a business brain,a politicans brain,or even a union one, just an average guy trying to make a decent living like the other 200,000 of us.
But kicked in the knackers by all an sundry for doing so.
Num 2 is perhaps the most worrying, but that depends on where you are, there's certain places the Police wont even go unless mob handed round my way and i'm sure there's many others as well.
