Manager lying in investigation
Iv been invited to a second fact finding due to me amended the notes of the 1st one (major details of what was said missed off by manager doing investigation) I can also proved they lied...put all wrong dates on letters (possibly falsifying) . I now have to haveca second meeting with them but I am extremely uncomfortable them being the person to interview me . Is there anything I can do

Re: Manager lying in investigation
It is very difficult to prove a lie.
You need to prove intent.
It is also risky as this can end in a bad faith accusation.
It's a lot easier and safer to show incompetence.
In most cases that's all you need to do.

Re: Manager lying in investigation
The code states on page 26.
Am I the right person to be
dealing with the case?
Before starting a fact finding investigation, the manager should consider whether it is appropriate for them to handle the case. It would
be inappropriate if they were a relative or close friend of the employee or are directly involved in the alleged incident or their evidence could
cause a conflict in their decisionmaking process. If an employee is working for another manager and commits an alleged offence the manager
at the time of the incident deals with the case.
Page 27
After the meeting
The manager should Write up the notes of the meeting. The notes should not be verbatim but should capture the important points raised
Send a copy of the notes to the employee
with a covering letter explaining that the employee has three working days to respond with any changes they wish to make
Keep the handwritten notes in the file
Consider whether witnesses need to be interviewed
So the manager shouldn't handle the case if they are directly involved.
Although it sounds like the manager wants to challenge your amendments and has asked for a further meeting. If this is the case you can ask for a copy of the handwritten notes or if its been done on a computer then ask for an electronic copy. You can then check what was written at the time or check the data on the electronic copy to see when it was created and how many times it has been amended.
