This kind of decision should be taken out of the hands of lazy arsed-don't like change-can't work it out managers, their default position is always going to be no because they can't be bothered with any kind of sweaty thinking.
You should be able to apply to HR for something like this and if it's accepted which it should be the manager should just be told to get on with it and make it happen.

Re: Job share
I have a feeling that the directors currently at the top of the RM tree would be up for implementing job share more widely,it’s the middle management/DOMS that can’t be arsed filling out the paperwork
“Shorts,in this weather?!”
“If they’re bills I don’t want ‘em!”
“What’s she been ordering now?”

Re: Job share
Surely makes sense financially for RM if you've got two current posties who want to job share
who would both otherwise leave. Saves by only having to recruit one new person instead of two.

For antcpfc, resurrecting an old topic I know, but did you get anywhere with this? If so how did you approach with the management to get it done?

I approached my manager who looked up how we would go about it.

Re: Job share
I’ve been doing it for 2 years job sharing with another post person. It’s 3 days a week. You basically get every Other week off. We work in a single van duty so no need for rest day cover.I’m in my 60s so it’s certainly helps with aching bones and muscles.we had a good dom so that helped to sort it out but I agree it shouldn’t be that much trouble to implement.
