Executive Action in offices

Can I first say before the avalanche of “ you have a start and a finish time “ and “ just do your hours “ why is RM just totally ignoring everything that has been said ?
Just returned today after trying to fit 5 hours work in 4 hours .. bringing back 2 loops ( again ) ..normally more, and before we left the COM informed us to concentrate on tracked / parcels ( even though we’re not prioritising ) apparently ?
From Monday 7 more duties are being absorbed and roughly people with 20+ years ending up being floats, that’s 15 duties we’ve lost since Xmas and the union have done nothing. Today also we were all greeted with a box of mixed D2D’s from the last 3 months from walks that haven’t done them so the office has too share them ( apparently) that didn’t go down too well, as expected. Also we’ve been given 28 days notice that from April we can be moved onto any duty ( with that day off ) even if you’re a duty holder to cover walks …. yet again staff fuming.
So my question is where is the union, numerous people have reported this and other numerous things and they done absolutely nothing.

Interest yes, by referring to it in numerous videos but on the frontline where it matter’s virtually every office is being hit, these threats by the union have been totally ignored by RM some circumstances laughed at by COM’s.

The Union are trying.
In my office the duty revision is unbelievable.
The Area Rep immediately put in a disagreement, he was then informed that the Com was ignoring it.
We will find out on Monday if these revisions stop.
I would suggest if they don’t stop more strike action will take place.

No CEO with the two committees as bad as he represented himself would survive.

The d2d policy is driving me round the bend. I'd assume your office is like ours now in that no surplus can be returned. So if we have too many sent to our frames, you're told to basically do them again the following week. Like your office, we've also had d2d's found that haven't been done from months ago. I was chucking some in the other day that were vouchers for a local pub chain that expired 3 months ago.

My office & another office near by have all received Special deliveries to our home address giving us 4 weeks notice that we are changing from 1 in 4 Saturdays off to 1 in 6 Saturdays off. As Dave Ward said, they are imposing executive action for no reason other than spite.

My MC are going full steam ahead with the realignment . Our Rep has put in a disagreement, but I don’t see anything happening. The Union at National level have got to deal with this before any negotiations can take place. I have got over 30 years seniority , and it looks like I’m going to be left without a duty.

Its happening everywhere and my belief is that the reaction of posties is exactly what they want, how many people are leaving because of the current executive action? Thats what they want especially the older and longer serving people, while the union attempt to negotiate in good faith, which although it gives you the moral high ground only works if its a level playing field, RM have no good faith and just hope it moves enough people on before the inevitable agreement with the union. Meanwhile everybody who goes will be replaced eventually by the newer younger Amazon/Evri mutant hybrid worker on less money. They are hoping that the extra work and unachievable workloads will demoralise and frustrate us all into leaving, i know you all struggle with it but if we all did it RM would become frustrated and demoralised, if we just all worked to our times and brought the stuff back. Its the only way to relieve the pressure on yourself. I fancy when this is all over they will have to backtrack on most revisions, but they will have done what they were meant to do and got rid of a good number of the staff they wanted on the cheap and weakened the union.

Only a few weeks ago the CWU were planning to strike on the 16th/17th February due to the Royal Mail imposing executive action by these un-agreed revisions. That strike was only called off because the union messed up

Since then, the main man facing a Select Committee has decided to enter the fray by meeting with big Dave, champion of the workers rights. He will likely have shown him that the Royal Mail accounts are now redder than our post vans and drastic action is needed otherwise we won't have any jobs left and Royal Mail will go out of business....

So I believe (imho) that we are heading towards a "sell out" agreement. That is, a below inflation pay rise in return for more work being 'forced' on us. The later starts and finishes may well be pushed in at a later date. Many postie's that are already out of pocket won't be ecstatic with this including me, but I'm also a realist. How else can we make this company profitable again?

My gut feeling is that some of the board members should resign given the handling of this dispute from turning a profitable company into one that is as they say is now losing over a million pounds a day. They will likely move on and find other companies to ruin.

Well I can only speak for myself, done 30 years plus and lost my duty , starting on time , taking my break and cutting off numerous loops of letters and parcels including tracked daily. I refuse to prioritise tracked unless the manager is prepared to put it in writing, I then go home on time.Just go about your business as usual, it really is their problem not ours , no business can sustain this level of disruption for ever , the onus is on them.

I've been thinking about that one, so you can be conducted for refusing a reasonable request, we know that but what if that request is to prioritise trackeds, presumably there's an issue here and if they tried to punish you formally ie conduct code then how would that pan out?
