Scanning to route

Or just ask if you can scan them all with one gun. It won't make any difference.

This - if you're a van partnership your loops are not that far apart that it won't make any difference to the
delivery window timings that get sent to the customer.

This is all pie in the sky.
The "delivery window" needs to say 0930 when you get out, to 1400 or whenever you finish delivery. (Insert new rimes here).
Even if you scan in the order you normally do the loops, this usually needs to change anyway to slot in your 1pm specials.
It literally is undoable as things stand to give a 1 hour window.
So much has changed in last 3 years or so; if they want this they need to separate parcels from letters completely.

They could send a couple of vans out early to do the specials

you can still scan with your pda.After you have done yours save as a draft then exit and scan his dutys barcode scan his stuff save it to draft when he logs on with his pda scans his duty he will have the draft and he can send it to cloud then its on his not yours.

Lol sounds mad but my park n loop partner has gone and been split between 3 dutys and that's what I've had to do.I think it works nobody's complained yet..

Whatever you want to do. I scan them as I pick them up as I always empty the entire packet bag on the frame. Sometimes it takes a while for it to actually load, so while I'm waiting I'll chuck a couple of the untracked items onto the parcel shelf so I ain't wasting time waiting for it. Don't forget to do your lapsing, and oversized before submitting though. Once you've submitted you can't go back into it.

I usually scan them as I put them in order into the van, I still can't see what RM gains by individual OPG's scanning their own parcels when we still give a 4(?) hours window for them to be delivered and I doubt many customers take any notice of the window in any event.

What's the point as when we scan the core to route at 9.30 saying they will be delivered before 2pm but most people are at work anyway

The only reason I can see at the moment is it saves one or two people being paid to scan every tracked for the office in ready for delivery in the morning. Instead, absorbing that into the duty holders day. If it's still giving a 4hr delivery slot there's no change there.

Had one myself the other day, the notification gave a 3hr window with a caveat that the time window is not guaranteed.
