Five different managers in the last four years have told our office to prioritise parcels; no industrial action, no COVID, no health and safety, just we are now a parcel company.

Manager in our office has also used the PDA actuals to not pay or reduce overtime payment, when questioned he said he reduced the overtime because of the magic dot on his computer.

We literally had a huddle to say we prioritise tracked parcels because they are a 'Premium product'

The three stooges need to go to prison for their blatant half truths and lies.

The way they acted was as though it was all a bit of a joke to them; the only person to actually give them real trouble was the chair.

Upto seven years in prison for perjury.

I've never heard of it being implemented however it would interesting if these three do actually get sent down if proven to have lied under oath in a serious enough way to actually warrant a custodial sentence, the look on their faces would be priceless.

The House of Commons is the supreme sovereign body in the land. It is above the Crown, Executive and the Judiciary. I would say it is pretty serious if you lie to a Committee of the HoC.

I noticed that when they say that sd tracked parcels before letters that they only do it after strikes ,can this be true as the last image that was shown was dated the 16/1/23

Thompson came a bit more prepared this time.He wobbled a bit especially on sick pay deductions. Thompson was honest enough to admit that all the changes are being railroaded in because he hasn’t got the time to gradually do it over a number of years.Don’t think it achieved much other than what we already knew.

He has clearly been in intensive media/interrogation training over the past few weeks.

The Select Committee didn't actually ask any difficult questions - they were just questions that these guys really didn't really want to answer. I liked the way Simon kept introducing Ricky McAulay in the proceedings so that he isn't primarily the fall guy.


We all understood the implications of when Royal Mail introduced the PDAs and its obvious they would use it against us (in spite of the agreement that they had with the CWU) otherwise why should it need to track where we go and for how long we have been stationary? Even if its not in real time.

Prioritising parcels over letter everybody knows has been going for months after the pandemic before the strikes, during the strikes and even as recent as last week, posties have been bringing loops of mail back only to find next day that only the tracked parcels have gone. Thats what the managers got their bonuses for after all.

Royal Mail has always had a good sick pay policy but its only recently that posties have been going on sick in numbers. I don't doubt that a lot of this is due to the company pushing modernisation at all costs. We have been lapsing every single day and forced into taking the extra work. And lets be honest managers faced with saving on the budget decided not to pay out overtime in order to get the mail delivered that day.
