Helpline Response

Post by freespeech »

I emailed the helpline asking why all pension quotes excluded AVC's and the DBCBS total......my total for these is now approaching £70k and that isn't considered at all in the quotes.

This was the response.........As the AVC's and DBCBS schemes are live, they cannot be included in any quotes in the first instance.

Pretty poor really. Surely it's easy enough to get a snapshot value and calculate the quotes based on that. Even using the current statement DBCBS value would be better than nothing.

What is DBCBS?
I've been ringing the pension people and imn even more confused than I was before . Why can't a statement be simplified into one ?
Luckily imn not the only one in our rest room everyone is of the same opinion

Defined benefit cash balance scheme.......was supposed to be a stopgap between the old scheme and the new but we are now in the fifth year of it so will likely result in a lot of people paying more tax than they would have if the new scheme was in place.

I retired 11 weeks ago every time I ring the helpline regarding my left over cash balance and AVC I get a different answer why I have not received it. I was told initially it would be paid at the 8 week point. Absolutely useless drawn out process.

I assume you are over 55 and have made the formal decisions on your pension? If not then you wouldn't automatically get either on leaving the business.
