A rubicon appears to have been crossed.

The mantra, according to news sources is that Royal Mail are determined not to alter the structure of the executive board.

So we've gone from a CEO to being laser focussed about customers needs (so he said), to a focus so much on destroying paltry employee allowances (in the grand scheme of things), and adjusting peoples hours (that could well be achieved voluntary overtime or through SA's etc), to instead continuing to attack in a vitriolic way the very workforce that facilitate all the previous and future revenues in the first place.

This is absolute madness.

Instead of focussing on growing the company they seem hell bent on destroying it. Where are the activist share holders ?
What on earth is going on.

None of the decisions make sense either separately or together. If we couldn’t move for parcels, I’d bite the bullet and shut up. But just as people keep saying mail is down, the same applies to parcels. Customer’s disposable income is being eaten up by energy bills. They don’t have spare dosh to spend on tat.

Chronic mismanagement is coming from the top. Why Thompson still had a job is baffling but Keith is driving this shambles. He should go too.

The shareholders made a fortune last year there probably just riding this bit out its all set up for them now the top brasses bonuses were switched from putting money back in to the company to take as much as you can get away with out.

Their bonuses are tied to shareholder dividends. Like wtf. Oh course the share holders made a hell of a bank.

It's a lot easier to devour a cake someone else made than to bake it yourself. The same principle behind the complete failure of Downstream Access. If the basic rule of economics is minimal expenditure for maximal return, then truly we can characterise them by their parallels in nature: leeches and parasites.

Yes mail and packets are really quiet, thing is I'm on park and loop and 12 months ago me and my part time partner would have easily cleared it and been finished maybe an hour early and prepped some d2d,but due to the revision,an extra street here and an extra street there,only one person on sorting,part timers told to start 2 hours after the full timers,we now regularly bring back 3 bags of mail,everybody in our office does,surely even those halfwit at the top can see that there masterplan is now dead

I don't think he cares what ever happens to the company. As long as he has set out his agenda and gets a golden hand shake he won't care what the company looks like in 5 years time.

Simon talks about that he has listened to the workforce but has he really or is it just a distraction by saying he has listened but in hindsight hasn't really and just sounds like he's on your side the way that he portrays himself on videos.

But i suppose if mails down so much its sort of obvious that theyre not generating the income to be paying out as many hours.
