Thanks. Do you know if the hundreds of millions of profit that was paid out was from the same?

When you’re throwing good money after bad in terms of vans and the “move” to electric they only have themselves to blame then you need to look at who benefits if the company is made to seem worthless. We all see with our own eyes how profitable it could and should be.

Could save a chunk of that by getting rid of Simon Thompson.

Oh but we are in the process of doing that now.

Should his wages shrink a bit now he's no longer part of the negotiation team.?

Can't find where to post new thread on here.

Let's just grass the Gaffers up.

Tell it like it is. The whole shot and all.

Simon Thompson with your knowledge.

That because after the revision we’re strolling around delivering mainly letters, while in the afternoon we’re flooded with agency workers doing all the parcels I’ve never had it so easy, what a way to run a business

I agree that RM could be losing £milion a day - compared to the pandemic profits, but those were bonus years money wise. Our parcel numbers are close to pre covid figures, admittedly the strikes may have cost money but look at the outgoings we read about : hubs that can't even sort packets into walks, bonus schemes for management, the ex managers pay off's , shareholders getting around 50% of our profits (my guess) ,electric vans that won't save the planet, the list goes on. IF RM still lose a million a day now, then I suggest you let it go bust - total mismanagement from above 😠

I'm asking if those millions in profit that were given to share holders that we all moan about were from the whole company (ids) or just the UK domestic royal mail

This has been raised in another thread but I though I'd repeat it here seeing as this thread is specifically about the
often quoted £1m loss per day. I've double checked this and I'm sure my maths is correct....

Simon said:
As I have repeatedly said, resisting change and not transforming to meet customer needs is not an option in a business losing £1 million a day. Royal Mail reported losses of almost £300 million in the nine months to December 2022, two-thirds of which was the result of industrial action.
So let's say the loss figure he's giving for 9 months is genuine.

But hang on - he says 2/3 of that was due to IA so lets remove 200 million leaving 100 million loss over 9 months.

100 million loss over 9 months is just over 11 million a month.

11m divided by 30 (days roughly per month) is 370k (roughly) a day! Not a million!

I've rounded figures but it still doesn't make it a million a day.
