Nationally co-ordinated Mail Centre revisions begin today 13th Feb 2022

Our MC revision begins today, from other posts on here it seems that all Mail Centre revisons will begin today 13th feb 2022, it seems to be nationally co-ordinated.

The process in my MC is:
1. Sick and disabled with occ health referral first
2. All Mech in reciept of TPM
3. "Flow throughs" ie all those not changing hours (jumping seniority)
4. Seniorty pick of remaining duties after "flow throughs" have been done
5. Remaining surplus pool to be moved to vacant slots on other shifts or shipped out to distribution or deliveries.

If the poster from Gatwick MC could come back and up date here it would be good to have a dedicated MC revisions thread

If something like that is happening at my MC then people will prob have something to move to as ours is so understaffed.

Our's is grossly OVERSTAFFED! over exuberant recruiting during the pandemic! Gave out bloomin permanent contracts too!
About to be some very unhappy people.

Ah thanks for the info, the union wanted to do a full repick in seniority order at our plant starting at no1, but the company are not entertaining that.
TBF you would have people moving all over the place and just generally messing things up and requiring "training" etc just cos they considered themselves to be some sort of "top dog" on seniority.

But i gather past resigns have been done that way.

Yes, correct.
And that person gets to bypass seniority
i.e been there 3yrs and get “flown-through” whilst old Bert with 30yrs seniority (whose duty no longer exists ) gets dumped in the repick pool to fight for the leftover scraps.

(at this point his seniority will then come into play and should secure him a duty but not the one he “thought” he was going to get being a “Top Dog” in a full top down resign)

Royal Mail is truly managed by absolute morons.... Mail Centres significantly overstaffed and others significantly understaffed....

A flow through job is one that is not to be part of any revision.
A flow through job and the person within it will remain the same and unaltered whilst changes happen around them.
A flow through job is protected for whatever reason the management decide to give.
I shudder to think what the future holds.

Group 1 will probably end up with any of the manual letters and flats duties. Group 2 most mech staff will probably try and keep their current duties (or go for a direct equivalent). Not sure if there will be any group 3s as everyones start and finish times are changing. Packets, Tracked and the SD locker all come under generic duties

Letters and flats seem to be the duties that DDAs get, and as there's no way near as many manual letters and flats these days, the DDA duties will probably account for all the manual letters and flats

My gut feeling is any MC staff will be shipped to other parts of the business that requires more staff.
Take it or leave the business. Simple as that.
