It was a lie Simon Thompson promoted to frighten his workforce.

Exactly. So my point still stands. Expecting a back payed, no T&C change, pay rise, above the rate of inflation, is not going to happen while the company is bleeding money. If that is why you are striking, you are deluded.

and also that they haven't been through the contractual dispute resolution procedures that are in the agenda for growth and resigned in the pathway to change.

Am I correct in saying it seems RM are happy to use these agreements when it suits them and yet when it comes to things like revisions and the need for CWU input in revisions RM completely ignore the agreements.
Is that about right or am I on the wrong track?
I mean with all that's been going on with these imposed changes exactly what agreements have RM broken?
I'm not an expert in the exact details within these documents.

Good point. Surely then we can just refuse to work in offices where unagreed revisions and executive actions have taken place, surely? I know its probably not that simple but surely it should be, considering they can get our strikes cancelled.

Let's be clear here....RM didn't "get the strikes cancelled". It was pointed out that the CWU gave notice based on unagreed revisions and the RM legal department advised them that there was no ballot for that so any IA could be deemed illegal. The CWU could have said "see you in court" but they chose to call off the action. It was neither the Tory anti union laws or RM that screwed this one.

Never turn your back on a snake. They ripped up previous agreements such as pathway to change and are now pretending to play fair and wanting to reach agreement. Don't be fooled!

No it isn't. If it was don't you think that the Royal Mail with its lucrative legal team would have sued the newspaper for libel??

They have backtracked on their initial statement by explaining that they do have £1.7 billion - but its in available liquidity. Even though its not in cash it is still a huge sum. Royal Mail has always had a very healthy balance sheet. Don't forget that they have also invested billions of pounds of previous profits into these parcel hubs.
