Hi Guys, I finished with royal mail last week and have received my final payslip today.
I had over 2½ weeks leave accrued although I will be loosing about 2½ days of this as I obviously didn't work until April this year.
I've been paid for 5 days leave for last week which I had taken off as holiday but only at a basic rate of £10.74 an hour and no average overtime added.
I'm only on a 20 hour contract but usually I work 40 to 45 hours per week so I should get my usual overtime average.
Also, there's no sign of the other week and a bit of holiday pay. I tried calling HR and it seems they finish at 2pm. How the hell is someone with a job supposed to get in contact with a department that only answers their phones between 9am & 2pm?

Completely agree! Horrible place.
You earn approx 2 days holiday for every month you work, so if you haven't worked to the end of the financial year that will be taken off your allowance, so minus that and any strike days they have no right to withhold any other time you're owed.
I'll have to try to get in touch with HR on my lunch break but I'll expect the usual bullcrap from them.
CWU next step?

Re: Final pay missing loads ££
I left Christmas week and didn’t get any annual leave pay that I was owed. Apparently your manager has to authorise it by email. I contacted him, he sent the email and I was paid the following week.Asmad wrote: ↑09 Feb 2023, 21:14Completely agree! Horrible place.

What phone number are you using for HR, as I’m getting payslips saying I was ? Overpaid and that I owe RM a whopping £8.75

Re: Final pay missing loads of money
I called them on 0345 606 0603.
Spent a load of time on to the today. Not great so far. She is emailing my manager about the holiday leave that hasn't been paid. Week and a bit.
The weeks leave that I have been paid for at £10.74 an hour for 20 hours and then 9 hours average overtime at £1.56 per hour is supposed to be all correct.......
She opened the conversation with, but you've had 4 weeks leave this year, so you're not entitled to anything more??
Pointed out that I'd rolled leave from 2021 into 2022 and was rolling leave into 2023 as I was entitled to and that it's leave I have accrued.
I think they are purposely out to defraud us out of money that is rightfully ours, just because we have left.
Think something needs to be done through legal channels to get this resolved for anyone/everyone who has recently left the
hole that Royal Mail has become.

Re: Final pay missing loads of money
RM incorrectly took money off of me from my last pay slip, over £100. After being fobbed off by HR saying it was nothing to do with them, I was able to explain to a manager exactly what had happened and he managed to sort it. It was in a pay slip that came the week after I had left along with some overtime that I was owed.
This seems to be happening too many times to just be a coincidence. The moment you leave RM you lose access to the App and that makes it harder to prove anything, especially about leave now that it is only held there.
RM have been defrauding the public for years by failing to deliver the service that has been paid for, so it doesn't really surprise me that they are now attempting to defraud people who have worked for them.

Royal Mail
failing the workforce, failing the public and deliberately failing mail on a daily basis for too many years.

Re: Final pay missing loads of money
Sorted would be an overstatement, but I live in hope (for now).
I think I'm going to need to find a legal service to fight this on my behalf. The lies and effrontery of the HR to dismiss any and all claims to monies rightfully owed to us is a disgrace.
I'm going to dig out my old pay slips with holiday pay shown to see the difference, but I'm pretty sure I'm at least £600 worse off than I should be.
Definitely wrong that our access to the app is immediately removed. HR also state that they cannot discuss holiday pay and that needs brought up with your line manager. Yea, great, I've left Royal Fail, and don't have a line manager any longer. Or as I'm sure a lot of guys who have left because of their managers and aren't exactly on good terms. Having to come back, cap in hand asking them to sort out their holiday pay problems is a real pleasure.
