Why the heck are we striking?

The whole point of the executive action is to demoralise the workforce and get them to ask why the heck we're striking?

That should be your start point in the debate, asking yourself why they're imposing these revisions?

If you want to play their game and be manipulated into exactly the response they're looking for fair enough but don't whine about it later.

Our revision is supposed to go live on the 13th March.
I received the proposal on the 27th of January.
By the 30th January they had my response and formal disagreement.

On Monday I escalated to stage 2 and it is now with the divisional reps. By the time the national ballot is announced I expect to have exhausted the DRP and will expect the national officers to support me in giving management notice of local industrial action commencing 13th of March.

I do not expect Dave Ward to come to my rescue and I won't sit back and bleat about how management are being "allowed" to screw over my office by the CWU.

Everyone has to fight this fight on their own doorstep.

I think the most obvious conclusion is this whole scenario is why so many local reps were suspended.
Ours still isn't back since the second strike day.
No exec action at ours though, yet.

I suppose I was a bit snippy with the OP and I’m sorry for that. Ultimately it comes down to how we want to be treated at work and what service we deliver to the public.

However try and not get stressed over any of it. It’s a just a job now. Clock in, do your duty to the best of your ability and clock out on time.

Mail fails. Not your problem.

Automatic redelivery means that days tracks fail. Not your problem

Threaten to be taken off duty? Fine. You have to be placed somewhere.

Suddenly to slow to complete. Fine. Prep test me.

Not allowed to finish on time for childcare? Come back early. Let them try and discipline you

I don’t often post here. I’ve been with the company over 13 years. I see people get really frustrated over everything. But none of it is your fault and not one bit of any of these changes are your problem. It’s a managers issue. If they can’t manage, well they can’t well manage can they?

In our office they come in at least 45 minutes early so they can complete their rounds then sit on their frames for an hour before clocking off. The union rep does the same. How can you fix stupid ?

Unfortunately there are reps like that, we have one at our place.
Simple answer, don't vote for them.
If one sneakily does manage to become a rep at least we have the democratic power to get rid of them.
