Thanks for your help with earlier posts, what is the scan core thing ? Is that scanning everything before you go, not only tracked ? With extra loops that would take forever.

You only scan Tracked. (at the moment)
You also input an estimated time at the first delivery point.
It will apparently mean the recipient getting a more accurate ETA.

Some of our weaker crews have been told they cannot bring any mail back, you take it all out & finish it & don't even consider claiming overtime, bet they are still out there?

Ours starts end of Feb, we lose the bigger stuff (shoebox size again) but gain around 400+ more houses. What about the basics, im now treble prepping 3 duties eh ? along with packets and d2d. We usually go over 1 hour plus, so to do everything im guessing at least 2 and a half -if my legs dont collapse. Can only see it being a total daily failure on every walk tbh, cant see overtime being paid around the country.

Fingers crossed that we have enough DPR drivers to do parcels, think those without duties are going after those. Think theyre later start/ finish times. 6 months = a total rebuild ?

Ive seen a few dodgy revisions come in over the years but nothing like this mess. Last month was very very light but so far in Feb the mail has picked up and seems normal again. For a couple of days our large parcels dropped but they are now already coming back in.
Massive cuts today with mail coming back.
Some walks have had nearly an hours absorbtion lumped on them. Crazy. Cannot imagine Christmas. What a mess.

Myself i start on time, take a break and bring an hours back. However it IS stressful working that way.

It can be stressful working that way and I feel sorry for those who don’t feel able to stand up for themselves but like you say, we still have a start and finish time. We have to get away from the ‘it’s not possible, it won’t work’ idea. If it’s a reasonable request just do as instructed, then clock out on time.

I don’t know of any manager who’d stand by the SISO machine and physically stop you from leaving on your time. Let them deal with anything brought back, it’s not our problem.

While we still have a set finish time, Royal Mail cannot win, but we have to use it to our own advantage.

As long as it’s a reasonable request then I’ll do what I’m told, within my hours.

3 to a van leading to more wasted time waiting for each other? Well, if you insist.

PDA has stopped working? Oh dear how sad never mind. And no I’m not using my phone to take pictures of barcodes.

Bench merging? It doesn’t work and I’ll get out later but no problem.

Sent out early in a van blocked in by 8 other vans? That’s fine, the early time will be eaten up by me moving vans. Speaking of eating by the time I’ve moved them all it’s time for my break. There goes the early getout.

Lapsing? Double lapsing? Triple lapsing? I’m still coming back on time.

Moved duty, given a different van, put on a round I’ve never done, moved to an unprepped round just as I’m tying up? See above.

There’s no such thing as compulsory overtime, not yet anyway. No matter what is thrown my way, I’m clocking out on time.

Just to add for me personally if commit to deliver comes in then it’s end game and Royal Mail have won however I think they’d win at best 25% of the current workforce and a succession of applicants who soon get on their bike when the reality of a DO hits them.

Just seen one of the new revision frames (3 walks) about a mile long , no way one person could prep that at a decent pace. If thats how our office will look, then its absolute madness - and its put together wrongly.

I can't see Scan to Core has made any difference to how our DO's PDA's run, post in my DO also seems to have picked up this week.

They seemed better today to be fair. Maybe it was the launch day and a few teething problem. And yes, Mail and parcels through the roof this week.
We all took the “lapsing” Monday, the new stuff they’ve added. By Tuesday we’ve all dropped it because nobody has time.

What is this scan to core thing?
