A first class stamp will rise above £1 for the first time in history unless Grant Shapps lets Royal Mail scrap Saturday letter deliveries, the company has warned.
Royal Mail chairman Keith Williams said a “considerable” increase in the cost of a first class stamp would be needed to balance the books if it has to continue with a six-day letter delivery service.
Is it me or does that sound like (excuse the pun) blackmail??
RM only put the price of stamps up 10% last year and then made record profits. These crooks running our company need to be held to account for their financial irregularities because its obvious that by ramping up the price of postage on letters will lead to a decrease in letter traffic.
Why are they not putting up the price of parcels instead??
Or getting rid of some of the COMs??
Or stop giving the managers stupid bonuses?
Or stop relying on agency agency workers??
Or giving away new uniforms to staff that have worked for the business for less than 3 months
