we've had quite a lot of questions in overnight, and this morning on the strikes that were called off and what happened, and so we wanted to give you a little bit more information on that.

it's quite simple. really in the very public communications from cwu leadership on the issues that they were calling the strikes for, it was clear that these issues haven't been balloted on, and so there was no valid ballot mandate, and also that they haven't been through the contractual dispute resolution procedures that are in the agenda for growth and resigned in the pathway to change.

And if an item hasn't been through those dispute resolution procedures. then people aren't able to be called out on strike for him, so it's that straightforward. it's not particularly complex, and it's similar to a number of the of the mistakes that we've seen in the past,

As part of that as well, i've been asked whether or not this had anything to do with the third ballot, which it doesn't. the third ballot is is an entirely separate issue and wasn't linked to this at all.

i do want to reassure you, though. that as an executive team, we are absolutely focused on wanting to get a deal done. no one is winning here. there are no alterial motives. there are no hidden plans. there is just a genuine desire and a lot of hard work in trying to ensure that this business transform so that compete and it can secure well paid jobs for as many people as possible and the future of the business.

and we do want to reach a deal, but we want to as part of the deal on pay. we also need to ensure that the business changes and and that's always been and remains our intention, and hopefully in the coming weeks through the dispute resolution procedures. we can find a resolution to that.

Mark Baulch was on a CWU live video with Chris Webb a matter of hours before the strikes were cancelled talking about the strike being called because of the revisions being implemented

10% payrise backdated to last April ,no unagreed revisions,no change to sick pay and no to later start times and one last thing bullying and harassment by managers finally once and for all called out,anything less and i wont vote for it,its that simple.

They seem to have an increasing amount of spokespeople I'm assuming their pay is quite generous compared to, well ours for an example.

We've all been given a letter today from Rickie explaining a similar situation, it really is hard to understand how the CWU could call a strike for anything but pay and changes to our T&C's, as they really that incompetent? Then they have the nerve to blame UK's employment laws and pretend they could have fought the decision in the courts.

I sense it's time Ward and co moved aside and let somebody else try and negotiate a reasonable settlement.

Am I correct in saying it seems RM are happy to use these agreements when it suits them and yet when it comes to things like revisions and the need for CWU input in revisions RM completely ignore the agreements.
Is that about right or am I on the wrong track?
I mean with all that's been going on with these imposed changes exactly what agreements have RM broken?
I'm not an expert in the exact details within these documents.

Weird how we have to follow the agreements, that RM have ripped up and discarded, to the letter, while they are free to do what they want.
