Good grief what a bunch of doom mongers. The RM board still haven’t recovered from Thompson’s display at the select committee and round 2 is approaching. Nothing on that scale of utter chimpery has happened to the CWU leadership.

We’ve had a minor setback but we will go again.
A minor setback wtf more like a complete an utter shambles of a union.
It is a minor setback mate, the game changer is the yes vote, this was a bit of a long shot tbh and probably only happened due to all the neigh sayers saying the union is crap look at what's happening with the executive action, so they had a pop probably knowing with all the anti Union laws it was a longshot, but it's the yes vote size and turnout that will decide the outcome of this dispute
Nothing to do with anti union laws my friend please read what union said reasons where for strike revisions something we have not been ballotted on shambles.somebodys head needs to roll but we all know nothing will happen as per usual..ffs how big was last 2 ballots an after so many strike days black fri cyber mon an christmas an were no further on.
I have read it my dear old chum, and like I said in my post, I think this a decision made to answer the revision activities, that changes were forced through by executive action and we were balloted on changes, so it was worth a try or at least a response but due to the anti union laws probably doomed, but it does highlight that RM couldn't give a rats hat about its staff and want to crush us rather than engaging in dialogue with our elected representatives

Why?
We have had two yes votes. Why weren't they the game changers?

Because if there isn’t a massive YES vote after clownface Thompson’s performance at the committee, then what is the point of us?

It’s YES or just roll over and give up.

That doesn't explain why it will be a "game changer" when the other 2 haven't.

What exactly are the parliamentary committee going to do?

It’s obvious that if support for IA dips towards NO territory, RM will leap on this and apply even more pressure on us to just give up.

After his performance at the committee it is vital that the YES vote is resounding. Thumping in fact, in order to turn the screw on Thompson.

Another shocker at the committee could lead to his resignation or sacking.

It worries me that people think Thompson resigning or being sacked will change the landscape of what Royal Mail intend to force through via Executive Action/Planned Change. It won't he is the distraction whilst Royal Mail slowly pickpocket everyone in the crowd in broad daylight. He goes just another succubus will replace him and suck out the company and it's workforces life blood.

It isn’t that people think Thompson being removed will resolve everything, at all.

It’s that Thompson being sacked or resigning would be a thorn to them and a weakness.

This happens time and again
It is simply not good enough
These people should be experts - or hire experts to do the job

You don't really even need to be an expert to know you can only call a strike for what the union members have been balloted on, hence why they are in the process of re-balloting members, perhaps the CWU never wanted a strike and so deliberately called one incorrectly,

The CWU cannot continue to make basic errors.
We put our faith in those guys being proficient, if they've cocked up I'd like it stated in plain terms when that happens. Stop pretending these continual mistakes are not important, don't flannel us - learn from it and be better.
